SANITIZING FILTER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A RESIDENTIAL WATER FILTERING SYSTEM
A sanitizing filter for sanitizing a residential water filtering system has a water filter assembly including a cartridge operable for removable attachment to the water filter assembly. When the cartridge is attached to the water filter assembly, a water flow passes into the cartridge, mixes with sanitizing media within the cartridge, and passes back into the water filter assembly. The residential water filtering system is then filled and flushed repeatedly and the mixture of water and sanitizing media sanitizes the portions of the system that are downstream from the sanitizing filter.
HOT WATER CART CONDITIONING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A conditioning system for a filter module is disclosed. The conditioning system may generally include an inlet, a heat exchanger, a magnetically levitated pump, a channel provided to bypass the heat exchanger, a controller, an outlet, and a base. The system may have components lined with corrosion-resistant materials. A method of conditioning a filter module is also disclosed. The method may generally include measuring TOC in a source of ultrapure water, heating the ultrapure water, rinsing a filter module with the heated water, flushing the filter module with ambient temperature water, and repeating the rinsing with heated water and flushing with ambient temperature water. A method of facilitating conditioning of the filter module is also disclosed. The method may generally include providing a portable filter module conditioning system and providing instructions for installation or use.
SEALING CASE FOR FILTER CASSETTE
A sealing case for a filtration cassette that reliably prevents leaks after assembly and installation into a filtration system. The sealing case fits on the filtration cassette and provides a fluid-tight seal between the sealing case and around at least one port in the filtration cassette when installed in a filtration system. The sealing case may comprise two halves that mate together, and each half may be identical. The internal surface of the sealing case is flat or substantially flat.
Fluid filtration and particle concentration device and methods
Fluid filtration devices and methods of filtering fluids are described. The devices generally include a housing and an annular filter assembly, wherein the filter assembly is located inside the housing and comprises a filter material. The filter material may be, for example, an electroformed nickel screen having a smooth working surface and expanding pores. A rotating cleaning assembly comprising a distributor and wipers may be located inside the filter assembly.
Method for Fouling Reduction in Membrane Based Fluid-Flow Processes, and Device Capable of Performing Such Method
The invention relates to a method for fouling reduction and/or fouling removal and/or prevention of fouling in membrane based fluid-flow processes, such as ED, RED, EDR, CDI, fuel cells, filtration, flow batteries, and a device capable of performing such methods. The method comprises the steps of: providing a dynamic membrane stack with a number of membranes, the stack capable of changing the average inter-membrane distance between two adjacent membranes with the inter-membrane distance being the distance between the membrane surfaces of two adjacent membranes; performing the membrane based fluid-flow process in a first state with the stack having a first set of average inter-membrane distances; switching the membrane based fluid-flow process between the first state and a second state wherein the stack having a second set of average inter-membrane distances different from the first set; and performing the membrane based fluid-flow process in the second state, wherein, at least in an initiating phase, fouling is removed and/or reduced and/or prevented.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EFFECTING HIGH RECOVERY DESALINATION WITH PRESSURE DRIVEN MEMBRANES
A system and method for switching between flows of water solutions passed in groups of blocks of membrane pressure vessels arranged in parallel in a tapered flow system, wherein the system comprises a system inlet feed line, a system outlet flow line, high pressure booster pumps configured to provide a high pressure feed stream to the system; blocks of membrane pressure vessels arrayed in parallel, and a first and second bypass line each parallel to said blocks.
HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE FILTER WITH VALVE OPERATED REVERSE FLOW FOR MANUAL BACKFLUSH
A water filtering system incorporates a plurality of membrane filters installed in succession along two parallel manifolds. Each manifold is separately controllable such that the manifolds are able to be separately backflushed. The two parallel manifolds share a source water inlet and a clean water outlet. In some embodiments, the membrane filters are able to clean contaminated water to 99.999% 5 log of Bacteria, Protozoa and Cysts.
WATER PURIFYING SYSTEM AND BACKWASH MODULE CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
Disclosed herein is a water purifying system, including: a raw water tank configured to store raw water; a filter unit configured to include a plurality of filtration modules for purifying the raw water and a plurality of valves for feeding or cutting off the raw water; a raw water pump configured to feed the raw water from the raw water tank to the filter unit; and a backwash module configured to feed backwash water to the filter unit, in which some of permeate water permeated by the filter unit is fed to the backwash module to be used as the backwash water and a feed pressure of the backwash water is fed by the raw water pump.
