A priming subsystem of a cell processing system carries out a method for priming a spinning membrane separator having an inlet and first and second outlets. The method includes opening a first selectable junction disposed between a priming fluid container and the inlet to open a path between the priming fluid container and the inlet, operating a first pump coupled to the first outlet to draw priming fluid from the priming fluid container into the spinning membrane separator, and closing the first selectable junction and a second selectable junction coupled to the second outlet after drawing the priming fluid into the spinning membrane separator. The method further includes operating the first pump after the first selectable junction is closed to draw a vacuum, and opening the first selectable junction after drawing the vacuum.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL TREATMENT OF AQUEOUS FLUID FOR OILFIELD APPLICATIONS

A method of electrochemically treating a hydrocarbon-bearing formation is provided. The method includes electrochemically treating an aqueous fluid to provide a first fluid having a first electrochemical potential and a second fluid having a second electrochemical potential. The first electrochemical potential the second electrochemical potential have opposite signs. The method then includes introducing an amount of the first fluid into the hydrocarbon bearing formation, and then an amount of a spacer fluid is introduced into the hydrocarbon-bearing formation. An amount of the second fluid may be optionally introduced into the formation. The steps of introducing the fluids are repeated until an end point is reached. A system for electrochemically a hydrocarbon-bearing formation is also provided.

A chamber 11 and the backpressure chamber 16 are in communication with each other via a gap between the outer circumferential surface of the support box 5 and the inner circumferential surface of the housing 2. Pressure in the chamber 11 and pressure in the chamber 16 are substantially the same.
