The proposed prefabricated filtration module (10) is provided for a modular filtration system, in particular a cross-flow filtration system, for low-volume screening applications. The prefabricated filtration module (10) includes fluid ports (24) and a plurality of components adjusted to low-volume screening applications, which are firmly integrated into the filtration module (10). The entire filtration module (10) is designed as a single-use filtration module.

Subject-matter of the invention is a modular distribution head for a membrane housing body including a front side, a pipe connection to the membrane housing body, a gasket to seal the membrane housing body which is placed in the pipe connection, at least two flow openings in the distribution head through which the liquid can flow in and out of the distribution head and the membrane housing body whilst the flow opening is e.g. a liquid inlet, a permeate outlet or a concentrate outlet. The use of the distribution head or plant as per the invention leads to a considerable reduction in space required. In addition to less required space, a further advantage of the distribution heads as per the invention is that the connector pieces and the hydraulic connections are no longer necessary since the distribution heads are directly connected to each other and less collector pipes are needed in a plant.

Provided is a cartridge-type hollow fiber membrane module including a hollow fiber membrane unit module with a free end and a cartridge frame and a submerged water treatment apparatus including an air diffuser apparatus capable of intermittent and continuous aeration disposed below the hollow fiber membrane module, wherein the cartridge-type membrane module with the free end using the coarse bubble generating air diffuser apparatus capable of intermittent/continuous aeration in conjunction with an air accumulation pipe may control aeration/non-aeration cycles through adjustment of the volume of an air chamber and an amount of inflow air and carry out continuous aeration based on changes in raw water load and a concentration of solids in a membrane separation tank.

A method for repairing a membrane filtration module in fluid communication with a plurality of additional membrane filtration modules includes fluidly connecting a fluid transfer assembly to the membrane filtration module, fluidly isolating the membrane filtration module from the plurality of additional membrane filtration modules, forcing liquid within the membrane filtration module into the fluid transfer assembly by introducing a pressurized gas into the membrane filtration module, releasing the pressurized gas from the membrane filtration module, fluidly disconnecting the fluid transfer assembly from the membrane filtration module, repairing one or more damaged membranes in the membrane filtration module, and fluidly reconnecting the membrane filtration module to the plurality of additional membrane filtration modules.

A flat-plate filter for water treatment and a flat-plate filter module comprising the same are provided. The flat-plate filter for water treatment according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a piece-shaped filtration member comprising a first support and a membrane formed on both sides of the first support; and a support frame fitted in and coupled to the edge of the filtration member so as to support the filtration member, and having a flow path through which filtered water introduced from at least one surface of the filtration member flows, wherein a part of the filtration member is disposed in the flow path or at the edge of the flow path such that the first support is exposed.

In some implementations, the device and method is used to assist the filtration functions of a patient's liver or kidney. The device includes a plurality of hollow fibers that pass through a sequence of alternating filtration chambers and infusion chambers. An automated modular filtration system, particularly for low volume tangential flow filtration processes, comprises a plurality of filtration modules formed as separate assemblies and at least one control unit for jointly controlling filtration processes of individual filtration units. The fuel cell membrane humidifier according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a middle case in which a module insertion part, including an outer partition wall formed spaced apart from an inner wall of the middle case, is formed; a cap case coupled to the middle case; a hollow fiber membrane module inserted into the module insertion part; and an active pressure buffer part that is formed between the middle case and the module insertion part and prevents the module insertion part from expanding due to the pressure difference between the inside and the outside of the middle case, or resolves the pressure difference, according to the output status of the fuel cell.
