LIGAND-MODIFIED FILTER AND METHODS FOR REDUCING METALS FROM LIQUID COMPOSITIONS
Described are filter materials including a polyol ligand, such as n-methylglucamine, and/or a polyphosphonic acid ligand, which are highly effective for filtering metals or metal ions from fluids. The filter materials can be particularly useful to filter basic and acidic fluid compositions, such as those used for wet etching, removing photoresist, and cleaning steps in microelectronic device manufacturing.
METHOD FOR PREPARING A COMPOSITION COMPRISING HIGHLY CONCENTRATED ANTIBODIES BY ULTRAFILTRATION
The present invention provides a method for preparing a composition comprising highly concentrated antibodies by ultrafiltration in batch concentration mode having a first constant feed rate step and a second controlled feed rate step.

Blood filtering device
A blood filtering device has a filtration section with filter medium separating raw side and clean side. A first communication path connects raw side and a first variable blood reservoir volume; a second communication path connects raw side and a second variable blood reservoir volume coupled to a receptacle. When varying the first variable blood reservoir volume, blood contained therein flows through first communication path to raw side, plasma/serum passes through the filter medium from raw side to clean side, and residual blood flows from raw side through second communication path into the second variable blood reservoir volume. When varying the second variable blood reservoir volume, blood contained therein flows through second communication path to raw side, plasma/serum passes through the filter medium from raw side to clean side, and residual blood flows from raw side through first communication path into first variable blood reservoir volume.
HYDRAULIC-ARM AIDED CLOSED CIRCUIT BATCH-RO DESALINATION APPARATUS OF LOW ENERGY AND HIGH RECOVERY PROSPECTS
An inventive apparatus for closed circuit batch-RO desalination comprising a RO-skid with membrane elements and circulation means for the recycling of RO concentrate through membranes and a designed hydraulic-arm with a disc separating between a section of pressurized hydraulic fluid created by a high pressure hydraulic pump under fixed flow and variable pressure conditions and a section of RO recycled concentrates. The batch desalination sequence is completed when the entire hydraulic-arm volume is filled with hydraulic fluid and thereafter, desalination is stopped, said apparatus decompressed, brine removed and hydraulic-arm recharged with fresh feed before the initiation of a new batch sequence. The inventive apparatus enables RO desalination under the lowest energy and highest recovery prospects not possible by any other RO technique.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR THE FILTRATION OF BIOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS
A system, method and device are disclosed for bio-processing a feed stream and providing a constant output by operating a continuous single-pass tangential-flow process. The single-pass process provides high conversion concentration while operating at relatively low feed flow rates, and the process can also be used to provide constant output diafiltration.
