METHOD OF PREPARING HIERARCHICAL POROUS CHANNEL MOLECULAR SIEVE MEMBRANE AND APPLICATION THEREOF
The invention relates to a method for preparing a hierarchical porous zeolite membrane and an application thereof, comprising the following steps: a mesoporous structure-directing agent is added to limit the growth of zeolite crystals, and self-assembled in the crystallization process to generate a mesoporous structure. Based on a seed crystal induced secondary nucleation mechanism, this method can realize one-step hydrothermal synthesis of hierarchical porous zeolite membrane with the advantages of mild and controllable synthesis conditions, simple process, good repeatability, reduced energy consumption and cost savings. The hierarchical porous zeolite membrane prepared by the method has good cut-off performance, and the cut-off molecular weight is adjustable between 200 to 500,000 Da.

Described herein are methods and compositions relating to tunable nanoporous coatings. In certain aspects, described herein are methods and compositions wherein a tunable nanoporous coating comprises a tunable nanoporous membrane which transitions from opaque to transparent upon the application of force, and from transparent to opaque after washing with a solvent.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING SEPARATION MEMBRANE USING MFI-TYPE ZEOLITE (SILICALITE)
Provided is a method for producing a separation membrane including a silicalite membrane without using NaOH or the like that causes an increase in cost with respect to equipment, facilities, and process time. The method for producing a separation membrane is a method for producing a separation membrane including a porous support and a silicalite membrane that is formed on the support and has an MFI-type zeolite crystal structure, and is characterized in that the method includes a step of producing a seed crystal, a step of attaching the seed crystal onto the porous support, a step of producing a membrane synthesis raw material composition containing SiO.sub.2, an organic template, and H.sub.2O, and a step of immersing the porous support having the seed crystal attached thereto in the membrane synthesis raw material composition and performing hydrothermal synthesis, and the composition ratio of the membrane synthesis raw material composition is as follows: SiO.sub.2:organic template:H.sub.2O=1:(0.05 to 0.15):(50 to 120).
Antimicrobial filtration membranes
A method for in situ production of antimicrobial filtration membranes that uses self-assembly of surfactants such as block copolymers as a template. The mesophase structure (for example hexagonal or lamellar) can be determined, and membrane pore size can be controlled in the nanometer range, by changing the block copolymer and the amounts of the components such as the block copolymer, aqueous solution, monomer, crosslinker, and initiator. The monomer phase cures in the template and there is no need for organic solvents and coagulation bath or other post-modification. As-synthesized membranes were found to have pore sizes with a narrow size distribution in the range of 3-4 nm with a molecular weight cutoff of 1500 g/mol and displayed both excellent fouling resistance and high permeance of water, vastly outperforming a conventional NIPS UF membrane. The monomer can comprise a quaternary ammonium group so that the membrane is antibacterial. The block copolymer can comprise hydrophilic blocks which form the surfaces of the membrane pores, rendering them hydrophilic.
Zeolite membrane having oxygen eight-membered rings, method for manufacturing zeolite membrane and method for evaluating zeolite membrane having oxygen eight-membered rings
Provided is a zeolite membrane manufactured by: subjecting a porous body to heat treatment at 400? C. or more in the presence of oxygen as pretreatment, before adhering zeolite seed crystals to a surface of the porous body; storing the porous body under an environment of humidity of 30% or more for 12 hours or more after the heat treatment; and subsequently adhering the zeolite seed crystals to the porous body. The zeolite membrane having oxygen eight-membered rings, which is manufactured by subjecting the porous body to the heat treatment, provides a value that is obtained by dividing a permeance of CF.sub.4 by a permeance of CO.sub.2 to be 0.015 or less, and has fewer defects.
