A skin care system and method for managing a skin care system. The skin care system includes circuitry to receive skin information from a user. The circuitry determines treatable skin conditions based on the skin information. The skin care system generates severity information and cosmetic formulation compatibility information based on the treatable skin conditions. The skin care system is further able to virtually display user-specific compatible cosmetic formulations based on at least one parameter associated with the severity information and cosmetic formulation compatibility.

An apparatus is provided for storing and dispensing a cosmetic fluid, comprising: a body including a nozzle disposed at a first end of the body and an opening disposed at a second end of the body, the body being configured to hold a volume of a fluid; a one-way valve attached to the nozzle configured to allow a flow of the fluid in a first direction from a first end to a second end of the one-way valve, and preventing flow of the fluid in a second substantially opposite direction; and a piston, wherein the opening is configured to receive the piston; the piston forms a fluid seal with sidewalls of the body; the piston is configured to be translated along a length of the body from the second end of the body to the first end of the body; and the translation of the piston displaces and ejects a predetermined volume of fluid through the one-way valve.

A cosmetic preparation system may provide a diagnostic or shade matching tool, a dispenser unit, and a mixer unit. The diagnostic or shade matching tool may identify a user skin type and customize one or more ingredients to create a custom blend composition. The dispenser unit may dispense ingredients and prepare the custom blend composition in containers of various sizes. The mixer unit may provide a mixing assembly to mix the one or more ingredients using gyroscopic mixing.

The base composition and the at least two booster compositions have been mixed to form a composition that is stable and has efficacious concentrations of active ingredients corresponding to skin conditions of a consumer.

Method and apparatus to agitate a liquid are disclosed herein. An example apparatus includes a carrier having a base that includes a ridge extending from the base and a collar extending from the base. A temperature-measuring device including a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is configured to measure the temperature of the material being contained in a container being revolved and/or rotated, and is configured to transmit data including a value of the measured temperature. The receiver is configured to receive the transmitted data. The transmitter is disposed in or on an upper lid detachably secured to the container, so that the transmitter can detect an incident light emitted from the material, and the transmitter can be revolved along with the container.

A system and method is provided for providing a cosmetic composition to a user. The system includes an apparatus configured to dispense at least one cosmetic composition into a output container; a user interface configured to receive information about the user; and circuitry configured to receive the information about the user and determine one or more cosmetic compositions to be dispensed into the output container based on the information about the user received at the user interface.
