A manufacturing apparatus includes a mixing machine having a receiving housing with a first receiving location configured to receive a first deformable capsule and a second receiving location configured to receive a second deformable capsule, the first and second capsules intended to be fluidly linked to each other and containing respectively a first formulation and a second formulation.

The mixing machine has at least an electrically motorized actuation system configured to transmit a pressure force to the first and second capsules to move the content of the first capsule in the second capsule, and vice versa, and an electrical heater element configured to heat at least one of the first and second capsules when the first and second capsules are received in the mixing machine, in which, in a preparation phase prior to bringing the two formulations into contact, the actuation system and the heater element are electrically supplied alternately.

A mixing machine, configured to receive a receiving device in order to form a mixing machine includes a support defining a receiving housing, able to receive a receiving device, the receiving device being configured to receive first and second capsules containing respectively a first formulation and a second formulation, the two capsules being fluidly linked to each other, an actuation system, movable inside the receiving housing to exert a pressure force on the receiving device and/or on the first and/or the second capsule(s), and a coupling mechanism, movable relative to the support and configured: in an insertion position, not to interfere with the insertion and the withdrawal of the receiving device into/from the receiving housing, and in a coupling position, to exert a force on an actuation face of the receiving device.

An apparatus for manufacturing a cosmetic product including a mixing machine having a removable receiving device, a support defining a receiving housing, able to receive the receiving device, the receiving device being configured to receive first and second capsules containing respectively a first formulation and a second formulation, the two capsules being fluidly linked to each other, an actuation system, movable inside the receiving housing to exert a pressure force on the receiving device and/or on the first and/or the second capsule(s), a clamping mechanism, movable relative to the support and configured:
in an insertion position, not to interfere with the insertion and the withdrawal of the receiving device including capsules into/from the receiving housing, and
in a clamping position, to pinch a section of a capsule,
in which the clamping mechanism is a clamping wheel, movable in rotation about a clamping wheel axis.

A receiving device to form a manufacturing apparatus when the receiving device is inserted into a mixing machine, includes a first receiving location configured to receive a first capsule containing a first formulation, a second receiving location configured to receive a second capsule containing a second formulation, a first bearing element located at the level of a first actuation face of the receiving device and movable inside the first receiving location, to exert a force on the first capsule, and/or a second bearing element located at the level of a second actuation face, preferably opposite to the first actuation face, and movable inside the second receiving location, in order to exert a force on the second capsule,
wherein at least one bearing element is a vane movable in rotation about a hinge, the movable vane being configured to enter one of the first and second receiving locations.

A mixing machine configured to receive a receiving device in order to form a mixing machine, the manufacturing apparatus comprising: a support defining a receiving housing, having a first receiving location configured to receive a first deformable capsule and a second receiving location configured to receive a second deformable capsule, the first and second capsules fluidly linked and respectively containing a first formulation and a second formulation, an actuation system movable relative to the support inside the receiving housing, comprising a first actuation member positioned on one side of the receiving housing and movable thereinside, in order to transmit a pressure force on the first capsule, along a first actuation stroke, a second actuation member positioned on another side, preferably an opposite side, of the receiving housing and movable thereinside, in order to transmit a pressure force on the second capsule, along a second actuation stroke, in which the first actuation stroke has a different length from the second actuation stroke.

A method of mixing a liquid composition that includes microparticles dispersed in an aqueous liquid carrier may involve a first premixing step and a second premixing step. During the first premixing step a receptacle is oscillated about a longitudinal axis clockwise and counter-clockwise from a first reference point through a first angle of rotation for a first period of time and at a first angular velocity. During the second premixing step the receptacle is oscillated about the longitudinal axis clockwise and counter-clockwise from a second reference point through a second angle of rotation for a second period of time and at a second angular velocity. A mixing and paint-making device and method for making paint are described. Embodiments of the paint-making device include a first and second palette hingedly coupled to a base. The base includes a paint pot shaking component configured to agitate and/or translate a paint pot. The paint pot shaking component includes a series of gears and pistons that interact to produce a shaking motion for a paint pot coupled to the paint pot shaking component. In one embodiment, the paint pot shaking component includes a crank gear adjacent a combination gear that contacts a slide crankshaft. The slide crankshaft is coupled to a slide crank arm that is secured by slide bracket coupled to the base. A paint pot harness holds a paint pot during agitation and moves in an upward and downward motion corresponding to the motion of the slide crank arm.
