PROCESS FOR REDUCING FOSSIL CO2 EMISSIONS
A process for operating an oxidizable combustion gas cleaning unit in a metallurgical plant, including the steps of: (a) passing an oxidizable combustion gas from a metallurgical reactor, in particular a blast furnace gas from a blast furnace, in a packed bed scrubber arrangement through a packed bed in countercurrent with a washing water or in a spray scrubber arrangement to remove cyanide compounds, in particular hydrogen cyanide, and to increase the removal of chloride compounds, in particular hydrogen chloride, from the combustion gas by solubilizing the cyanide and chloride compounds in the washing water, (b) collecting the washing water containing solubilized cyanide and chloride compounds at a bottom end of the packed bed or spray scrubber arrangement, and (c) collecting a cleaned oxidizable combustion gas at a top of the packed bed or spray scrubber arrangement, wherein a base is added to the washing water before step (a).
Mist generating apparatus for use in a vehicle
The invention provides an apparatus for generating mist, having: a container adapted to accommodate a liquid, the container having an inlet for receiving an incoming fluid stream into the container, and an outlet via which an outgoing fluid stream exits the container; at least one agitator arranged in the container for agitating the accommodated liquid to generate droplets of the liquid; wherein the agitator is arranged to be driven by the incoming fluid stream, such that the generated liquid droplets are caused by the incoming fluid stream to form the outgoing fluid stream, and subsequently, exit the container. The invention also provides a system for generating mist, having: a plurality of the above described apparatuses, having at least a first apparatus having a first inlet and a first outlet, and a second apparatus having a second inlet and a second outlet; wherein the first outlet is adapted to be connected with the second inlet to thereby allow fluid communication between the first apparatus and the second apparatus.
Porous Medium Premixing Combustor
A porous-medium premixing combustor is provided, which includes: an air-fuel gas mixer, a combustor body, a thermocouple, an ignition electrode, and a detecting electrode. The combustor body includes a casing connected to the air-fuel gas mixer; an outer and an inner burner-block, wherein the outer burner-block and the casing are connected, forming a square chamber, and the inner burner-block is provided inside the square chamber, with a via hole communicating with a pipe; and a mixed gas distributing plate, an ordered porous plate, a small-pore foamed ceramic plate, and a big-pore foamed-ceramic plate sequentially provided along an axis direction of the via hole of the inner burner-block. The thermocouple is provided at the casing and extends into the square chamber. The ignition electrode is provided close to an end of the big-pore foamed-ceramic plate. The detecting electrode is provided close to an exit end of the big-pore foamed-ceramic plate.
METHOD OF MAKING A MAGNETIC MATERIAL AND A FLUIDIZED BED MIXER FOR MAKING THE SAME
A fluidized bed mixer for combining a first powder with a second powder for manufacturing a magnet and a method of using the fluidized bed mixer for making the magnet. The first powder material is an alloy powder containing neodymium (Nd), iron (Fe), and boron (B), and the second powder material is an alloy powder or elemental metal powder containing one or more of dysprosium (Dy) and terbium (Tb). The fluidized bed mixer includes a fluidized bed portion in an upper portion of a mixing chamber, a cascading baffle system beneath the fluidized bed portion, and combined powder collection area beneath the cascading baffle system. The fluidized bed mixer is configured to homogenously combine a first powder material with a second powder material in such a way that particles of the second powder material adheres to and covers the outer surfaces of the particles of the first powder material.
Solid Component Mixing Apparatus and Associated Method
According to one embodiment a solid component mixing apparatus is provided that includes a mixing device, a first dosing device for supplying sand and a second dosing device for supplying a solid additive that are communicated with the mixing device. The mixing device includes a vertical mixing chamber with a rectangular cross-section, the contour of the chamber being formed by four side walls, such that two side walls opposite one another are wider than the other two walls. The chamber includes a first inlet communicated with the first dosing device and a second inlet communicated with the second dosing device, the second inlet being at a lower height than the first inlet, and the second inlet being arranged in one of the wider side walls of the chamber. Associated mixing methods are also provided.
