The mixing device also includes one or more compartments that are movable along the edge of the mixing member between selected ones of the sealed chambers. This compartment is operable to receive materials from and transfer materials between the chambers. Selected ones of the chambers include associated processing elements, for example, including heating and cooling elements, magnetic elements, membranes and lateral flow devices. The mixing device is also pivotable, for example, to facilitate the application of gravity force in the transfer of materials between the chambers and one or more compartments. The mixing device may operate manually by hand-held unit. Also, this mixing device may operate automatically with at least one driving unit.

Method and device for sonicating a biological sample

The present disclosure relates to a device for sonicating a biological sample. In one embodiment, a sample tube holder is pivotally suspended in a mount of a sonication device, thus allowing for a rotational degree of freedom and/or lateral movement that provides an optimized contact area between the sonotrode and the sample tube. Also disclosed is a method for sonicating a biological sample using the device described herein.

MIXING BIOLOGICAL COMPONENTS WITHOUT FROTHING

A device for the mixing fluid media. The device is a bladeless mixer. The device comprises a hollow body with at least a single inlet opening in its bottom and at least a single outflow region in its side. The device is rotated at a speed at which the media due to centrifugal forces enters the device's hollow cavity via the inflow opening or unit. The media is discharged from the cavity through one or more outlet units or openings in the sides or in the top of the device. During mixing the media does not rise above the level of the undisturbed media.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SAMPLE PREPARATION USING SONICATION

Devices, systems and methods including a sonicator for sample preparation are provided. A sonicator may be used to mix, resuspend, aerosolize, disperse, disintegrate, or de-gas a solution. A sonicator may be used to disrupt a cell, such as a pathogen cell in a sample. Sample preparation may include exposing pathogen-identifying material by sonication to detect, identify, or measure pathogens. A sonicator may transfer ultrasonic energy to the sample solution by contacting its tip to an exterior wall of a vessel containing the sample. Multipurpose devices including a sonicator also include further components for additional actions and assays. Devices, and systems comprising such devices, may communicate with a laboratory or other devices in a system for sample assay and analysis. Methods utilizing such devices and systems are provided. The improved sample preparation devices, systems and methods are useful for analyzing samples, e.g. for diagnosing patients suffering from infection by pathogens.

Analyzers are described that control sample agitation by detecting vibration acceleration and using feedback to control the agitation and also alert to the presence of abnormal agitation. An embodiment provides an analyzer comprising a liquid agitation unit; an agitated liquid analysis unit; and a unit that controls the agitation unit. The agitation unit includes a vibrator of a liquid container and a detector of vibration of the container and that outputs a signal to the control unit, which responds by regulating the vibrator.

LIQUID ANALYZING DEVICE

A liquid analyzing device includes a carrier, a driving unit, a rotating plate and a transmission mechanism. The driving unit is adapted to drive the carrier to rotate. The rotating plate is rotatably disposed on the carrier and adapted to support an analyzing cassette. The transmission mechanism is connected between the carrier and the rotating plate. When the driving unit drives the carrier to rotate to enable a rotation speed of the carrier to be changed and cross a predetermined rotation speed, the rotating plate rotates relatively to the carrier.
