Mixer for producing and solidifying an alloy in a subterranean reservoir
A downhole tool includes a housing configured to be placed into a subterranean environment and a mixer disposed in the housing. The mixer includes a first inlet configured to receive a fusible metal or alloy component and a second inlet configured to receive a solid metal or semi-metal component. Additionally, the mixer includes a mixing chamber configured to mix the fusible metal or alloy component and the solid metal or semi-metal component to form a liquid or partially liquid alloy. Further, the mixer includes an outlet configured to discharge the liquid or partially liquid alloy into the subterranean environment. The liquid or partially liquid alloy is configured to harden into a solid alloy over time.

TECHNIQUES AND APPARATUS FOR ELECTROMAGNETICALLY STIRRING A MELT MATERIAL
Techniques and apparatus for electromagnetically stirring a melt material are disclosed. In accordance with some embodiments, the system may include a containment vessel within which a melt material may be disposed. The melt material may include, for example, an electrically conductive alloy, which optionally may be non-ferromagnetic and/or glass-forming. In its molten state, the melt material may have alternating current (AC) applied directly thereto while being immersed in a magnetic field, which may be static or dynamic, depending on the desired stirring effect. Application of the AC and magnetic field may continue as the melt material cools and solidifies, the sinusoidal nature of the AC and the Lorentz force of the magnetic field providing convective motion which tends to agitate the molten melt material in a manner which may realize an improvement in heat transfer and chemical homogeneity of the resultant cast solid.
CONTINUOUS MIXING APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND CONTINUOUS MIXING METHOD FOR POWDER/GRANULAR MATERIAL AND VISCOUS LIQUID
A continuous mixing apparatus for a powder/granular material and a viscous liquid, with a mixing cylinder, a shaft member which is on a central axis of the mixing cylinder and rotates inside the mixing cylinder, and a plurality of mixing paddles disposed on a surface of the shaft member, wherein the mixing cylinder is with a powder/granular material feed port on one end portion, a mixed material discharge port on the other end portion, and a viscous liquid injection unit between the powder/granular material feed port and the mixed material discharge port, and the plurality of mixing paddles are disposed on the shaft member so as to form a spiral around the central axis, the plurality of mixing paddles being, in at least a portion between the viscous liquid injection unit and the mixed material discharge port, attached to provide first rows having an attachment angle of 5 to 60.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PREPARING SEMI-SOLID SLURRY
A method for preparing semisolid slurry. The method is achieved using a device for preparing semisolid slurry. The device includes a slurry vessel and a mechanical stirring rod. The mechanical stirring rod includes a first end and a second end extending into the slurry vessel. The method includes: S1. putting a molten alloy having a first preset temperature into the slurry vessel; S2. cooling the molten alloy to a second preset temperature, positioning the second end of the mechanical stirring rod to be 5-25 mm higher than the bottom wall of the slurry vessel, rotating the mechanical stirring rod and injecting a cooling medium into the mechanical stirring rod; and S3: allowing the temperature of the molten alloy to be 10-90 degrees centigrade lower than the liquidus temperature of the molten alloy, stopping stirring and cooling, to yield a semisolid slurry.
Electromagnetic stirring device
An electromagnetic stirring device of melted metallic materials inside a cooling chamber of a casting machine having a retaining body of induction coils that is a body composed of at least two reciprocally different portions.
ACOUSTIC ROTARY LIQUID PROCESSOR
An acoustic rotary liquid processor coupled with high-intensity ultrasonic vibration, rotary stirring, gas purging, and melt surface stabilizing is described. The processor can be used for the synthesis of particulate reinforced composite materials, scavenging dissolved gases in molten materials, and preparation of a slurry containing a small fraction of non-dendritic solid particles for semi-solid material processing.
