The fourth panel is an intermediate panel (7) that is inserted into the piece of furniture between the first side panel (3) and the second side panel (4) at a right angle thereto and at a right angle to the third panel (6). At their four corners, the first side panel (3) and the second side panel (4) have recesses (33, 34) and/or projections (19, 20, 21, 22), wherein these are recessed in the corner regions of the side panels (3, 4) extending substantially in the shape of an elongated rectangle into the edges (5) of the side panels, or extending out of the edges in the shape of an elongated rectangle and running at a right angle to each other in their directions of elongation at each of the corner regions.
Adaptation to an assistive device
Embodiments generally relate to transfer benches and, more particularly, to a transfer bench adapted to facilitate the movement into and out of an enclosure, such as a bathtub, by persons having limited mobility. A transfer bench may include first seating section, a second seating section rotatably coupled to said first seating section and configured to rotate from and between a substantially horizontal position to a substantially vertical position, wherein the second seating section cannot rotate more than about 90 degrees from the horizontal position, a first plurality of legs configured to support the first seating section, a second leg configured to support the second seating section, and a back support member extending from a side of the first seating section perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the second seating section.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL FURNITURE SYSTEM
A furniture system can include a base and a top. The base has a first surface defining a first slot and a second surface defining a second slot. The top has an end that is sized and configured to be inserted in the first slot and in the second slot. The furniture system forms a chair of a first configuration with the top forming a chair back and the first surface forming a first chair seat when the end of the top is inserted in the first slot. The furniture system forms a chair of a second configuration with the top forming the chair back and the second surface forming a second chair seat when the end of the top is inserted in the second slot. The furniture system can also be configured as various types of tables and the like.

Systems and methods for providing a convertible bench
Systems and methods for moving a convertible bench between a first position, which presents a backrest, and a second position, which presents a tabletop, is described herein. While the described systems can include any suitable component, in some cases, they include a base having a first end piece that has a first set of legs with a first arched leg support that extends between the first set of legs and a second end piece having a second set of legs with a second arched leg support that extends between the second set of legs. The bench further includes a backrest/table portion that is hingedly coupled to the base so as to be pivotable from a first position that presents a backrest to a second position that presents a tabletop. Other implementations are described.

WORK AND DINE DIVAN
A divan is configurable between upright and table configurations. The divan includes linkages which enable rotation of a backrest from the upright configuration to the table configuration. The divan includes a seat pan which is joined in the upright configuration and split in the table configuration. Joining the seat pan in the upright configuration provides a seating region with extra length. Splitting the seat pan in the table configuration provides two seating regions, one on each side of the table.
