A convertible furniture includes first and second furniture parts with a frame, end supports, a bed and a table part. Pivoting means between the furniture parts guide movement between a table position and a bed position. An openable table lock with first and second locking member secures the furniture parts in the table position, and when opened, allow movement of the furniture parts towards the bed position. The table lock is operated with an elongated shaft supported on the first or the second furniture part. A first end of the shaft is connected to the first and/or second locking member. The shaft extends past the first or second bed towards a second edge of the table part. The second end is manually engaged by a user situated by the second edge. The shaft is moved in the direction of the plane of the first or second table part.

A convertible furniture includes first and second furniture parts with a frame, end supports, a bed and a table part. Further, method of converting an article of furniture may include providing a first article of furniture. The first article of furniture may include a support base (100); and a first modular furniture piece (120) secured thereto in a non-permanent manner; and wherein the support base (100) may be configured to interchangeably support various modular furniture pieces (120, 130, 140).

A convertible article of furniture. Further, method of converting an article of furniture may include providing a first article of furniture. Different aspects of the invention refer to a multi-surface comfort table, such as a coffee table, that turns into a footrest or a bed. This is a useful item of furniture especially for small living spaces, as it is a coffee table and footrest in one and thus takes up less space. It is designed to function as a normal coffee table, and, when needed, the top is modified quickly to reveal a soft cushioned surface to place your feet on. One example envisaged is that the surface slides open to reveal the cushioned surface, but other embodiments envisage the top surface to be also lifted, slid, rotated (on any axis) or flipped (or any combination thereof) to reveal the soft surface. This top surface can be whole, or divided into parts that can be manipulated individually revealing the soft parts where and when needed.

A furniture assembly comprising a first frame structure having front and rear portions and including at least a first leg member and a substantially horizontal first rail member supported by the at least a first leg member where the first rail member has a first length dimension, a substantially horizontal second rail member supported by the at least a second leg member spaced apart from the first rail member wherein an assembly space includes the space between the first and second rail members, a front portion of the assembly space adjacent the front portion of the first frame structure and a rear portion of the assembly space adjacent the rear portion of the first frame structure, a first furniture sub-assembly having first and second ends, having a first depth dimension and supported within the assembly space by the first and second rail members and a second furniture sub-assembly having first and second ends, a second depth dimension and supported within the assembly space by the first rail member and a rail member of another frame structure, wherein the combined first and second depth dimensions are less than the first length dimension.

A convertible guard device for a fire heating appliance. The guard device having a plurality of panels and a base portion, wherein the panels may be configured to be arranged in a guard configuration and a tabletop configuration. The base portion may define a fire area and have an upper surface configured to receive the panels arranged in the guard configuration, and an inner surface having a ledge extending therefrom, the ledge configured to receive a perimeter edge of the panels when the panels are arranged in the tabletop configuration.

An article of furniture can be converted for dual uses as a coffee table and an ottoman, or vice versa, with relative ease using a simple conversion mechanism disposed on the article if furniture and operably connected between a number of convertible members and a base for the article of furniture.
