INSTALLATION FOR PRODUCING NITRIC ACID WITH A SEALING DEVICE FOR SEALING A ROTATABLE SHAFT OF A NO COMPRESSOR AND/OR OF A RESIDUAL GAS EXPANDER
A sealing device for sealing a rotatable shaft of a gas compressor and/or a gas expander may include first and second sealing chambers and an extraction unit. The first sealing chamber may surround the rotatable shaft and include an inlet for the supply of a sealing medium. The second sealing chamber may be separated from the first sealing chamber by a seal and may surround the rotatable shaft. The second sealing chamber may include an outlet for the discharge of the sealing medium. The extraction device may extract the sealing medium out of the second sealing chamber. The present disclosure also concerns a corresponding method. Still further, the present disclosure concerns an installation for producing nitric acid with a NO compressor and a residual gas expander as well as a corresponding method. The NO compressor and/or the residual gas expander may have such a sealing device.
Separator for fractional separation of supercritical carbon dioxide extracts
Generally, an extraction system useful in separating an extract from a matrix using one or more extractants. Specifically, an extractor including one or more of: an extraction vessel having an extractor vessel internal surface which defines an extraction chamber which communicates between open extraction vessel first and second ends, a first piston configured to sealably engage the extractor vessel internal surface of the extraction vessel first end or a second piston adapted to sealably engage the extractor vessel internal surface of the extraction vessel second end.
TRAY DECK ORIFICE DEVICE AND METHODS OF REPAIRING A TRAY DECK
The invention is directed to a tray deck orifice device for use with a tray deck in a vessel. The repair device comprises a flat member having a defined thickness and a void at a center thereof, and at least one anti-spin tab extending from an edge or edges of the flat member inwardly towards the void, wherein the repair device is designed to attach to the surface of the tray deck such that the void is aligned with a hole in the tray deck.
ACID DIGESTION INSTRUMENT AND VESSEL SYSTEM
An instrument system for acid digestion is disclosed. The instrument includes a heating block, a reaction vessel formed of a polymer that is resistant to acid and other chemical attack at temperatures above 150° C. and that has a structure (thickness, etc.) sufficient to withstand pressures above atmospheric, a metal sleeve surrounding the polymeric reaction vessel, and an opening in the block that has a cross-section corresponding to the cross-section of the metal sleeve.

High pressure polyethylene product cooling
This disclosure relates to systems and processes for cooling polymer product mixtures manufactured at high pressure. The processes of the invention involve cooling and then subsequently reducing the pressure of the product mixture from the reactor. In the systems of the invention, a product cooler is located downstream of the high pressure reactor and upstream of a high pressure let down valve.

Pressure Vessel System
The present invention relates to a pressure vessel system (1), comprising: —a pressure vessel (2) having a reaction chamber (3) in the form of a pressure chamber for initiating and/or promoting chemical and/or physical pressurized reactions of samples (P) received in the reaction chamber (3); and —a rail (50), which is rigidly connected to one pail of the pressure vessel (2) and has a first connection point (51) for admitting fluid, a second connection point (52) for discharging fluid and a fluid line (53), which fluidically connects the first connection point (51) to the second connection point (52), the fluid line (53) being fluidically connected to the reaction chamber (3) via the second connection point (52), and the rail (50) comprising at least one third connection point (55), which is fluidically connected to the fluid line (53) and can be connected to a device (56) such that the device (56) is fluidically connected to the fluid line (53) and thus to the reaction chamber (3).

Pressure-release vessel with rigid proportional liner and associated microwave-assisted chemistry methods
A structural improvement for microwave-assisted high temperature high-pressure chemistry vessel systems is disclosed that among other advantages offers dynamic venting and resealing while a reaction proceeds and eliminates the risk of cross contamination associated with systems that use a common pressurized chamber. The improvement includes a relatively thin-walled disposable liner cylinder that includes one closed end and one open end defining a mouth, and a liner cap positioned in the mouth of the rigid liner cylinder for closing the rigid liner cylinder. The liner cap includes a depending column that engages the inside diameter of the rigid liner cylinder, and a disk at one end of the depending column having a diameter sufficient to rest upon the rigid liner cylinder without falling into the rigid cylinder liner so that the cylindrical liner cap can rest in the rigid liner cylinder at the mouth of the rigid liner cylinder. The depending column, includes a passage to provide a gas venting space, and a dynamic venting action, between the liner cap and the rigid liner cylinder.
