The invention relates to tubular reactors. In particular the invention provides for a reactor internal component for a fixed bed reactor which is axially receivable within a portion of an internal reaction cavity of a reactor tube. The reactor internal component includes a tubular insert, having a tubular wall with an outer surface shaped and dimensioned to fit into the internal reaction cavity of the reactor tube, the tubular insert having an inner passage of varied diameter which is operable to change a profile of the internal reaction cavity, in use to improve temperature distribution in a catalyst bed provided within the internal reaction cavity of the reactor tube.

Reverse water gas shift catalytic reactor systems

The present invention describes a processes, systems, and catalysts for the utilization of carbon dioxide into high quality synthesis gas that can then be used to produce fuels (e.g., diesel fuel) and chemicals. In one aspect, the present invention provides a process for the conversion of a feed gas comprising carbon dioxide and hydrogen to a product gas comprising carbon monoxide and water.

METHODS FOR OPERATING ETHYLENE OLIGOMERIZATION REACTOR SYSTEMS WITH AN INTEGRATED ULTRASONIC FLOW METER

Methods for determining ethylene concentration in an ethylene oligomerization reactor using an ultrasonic flow meter are described, and these methods are integrated into ethylene oligomerization processes and related oligomerization reactor systems.

Reverse flow reactors with selective flue gas cascade

Systems and methods are provided for improving the operation of groups of reverse flow reactors by operating reactors in a regeneration portion of the reaction cycle to have improved flue gas management. The flue gas from reactor(s) at a later portion of the regeneration step can be selectively used for recycle back to the reactors as a diluent/heat transport fluid. The flue gas from a reactor earlier in a regeneration step can be preferentially used as the gas vented from the system to maintain the desired volume of gas within the system. This results in preferential use of higher temperature flue gas for recycle and lower temperature flue gas for venting from the system. This improved use of flue gas within a reaction system including reverse flow reactors can allow for improved reaction performance while reducing or minimizing heat losses during the regeneration portion of the reaction cycle.

According to one aspect of the invention, a catalyst tower is provided, which comprises a gas inlet and a catalyst holding plate set therein. The gas inlet is the opening where the catalyst tower and the upstream piping connects with one another. The distance between the gas inlet and the catalyst holding plate is directly proportional to the difference in diameter between the catalyst tower and the upstream piping.

METHOD OF SUCTION OF UNWANTED GASES FROM A CHEMICAL REACTOR

The present invention provides a highly effective method of removal of gases from the chemical reactor (01) by use of a suction unit employed near the inlet, outlet or both ends of the chemical reactor. The suction of entrapped air from the reaction mixture helps avoid fluctuation in the temperature or pressure requirement or formation of other by-products in the reaction mixture.

LOAD-FOLLOWING REACTOR SYSTEM, ASSOCIATED FACILITIES, AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME
20220401904 · 2022-12-22 ·

A load-following reactor system and associated facilities for improved control of a reactor under varying loads. The load-following reactor may be a tube-cooled reactor for methanol synthesis. A reactant may be controlled by at least one valve element such that a portion of the reactant is fed to the reactor through the reactor tubes, and a portion of the reactant is fed to the reactor after being heated in a heat exchanger. The heated portion of the reactant may be fed to the reactor after the tubes. The valve element may be controlled based on a temperature of the reactor and/or a flowrate of reactant feed to adapt the temperature of the reactor to the changing reactant flowrate.
