Core-shell metallic nanoparticles, methods of production thereof, and ink compositions containing same
Provided is a composition including a plurality of multi-metallic nanoparticles each consisting essentially of a core including at least one first metal (Me1) and a continuous shell including atoms of at least one second metal (Me2). Optionally, the continuous shell of Me2 atoms protects the Me1 atoms from oxidation at all temperatures less than 150° C.

POROUS HOLLOW SHELL WO3/WS2 NANOMATERIAL AND METHOD OF PREPARING SAME
Provided is a method for the preparation of a porous hollow shell WO.sub.3/WS.sub.2 nanomaterial, comprising: (1) adding a hexavalent tungsten salt to a sol A comprising mesocarbon microbeads, and stirring to obtain a sol B; (2) drying and grinding the sol B, and then heating a resulting powder at 200-500° C. for 0.5-2 hours to obtain a porous hollow shell WO.sub.3 nanocrystalline material; (3) placing the porous hollow shell WO.sub.3 nanocrystalline material obtained by Step 2 and a sulfur powder separately in a vacuum furnace, controlling such that a degree of vacuum is −0.01 to −0.1 MPa and a temperature is 200-500° C., and reacting for 0.5-3 hours to obtain a WO.sub.3/WS.sub.2 porous hollow shell nanocrystalline material. Also provided is a porous hollow shell WO.sub.3/WS.sub.2 nanocrystalline material obtained by the method.
Sequential encapsulation of reagents
An example system includes a primary channel having a first end and a second end, at least two reagent reservoirs coupled to the first end, and a controller. Each reservoir contains a reagent in a fluid solution and is associated with an integrated pump to drive a reagent droplet from the corresponding reagent reservoir into the primary channel towards the second end. The controller is coupled to the integrated pumps and operates according to a sequence to actuate the integrated pumps, the sequence being indicative of reagents in the reagent reservoirs. The actuation of the pumps is to drive the reagent droplets from the reagent reservoirs into the primary channel in accordance with the sequence. The example system also includes a shell material reservoir with a shell material and an associated shell material pump to drive the shell material into the primary channel to encapsulate the reagent droplets.

Microcapsule
A microcapsule, in particular of spherical shape, having a hollow capsule core encased by a capsule shell, characterized in that the capsule shell is at least partially made of hydrated cementitious material. A method for the production of a microcapsule includes the steps of: a) preparing of a suspension of particulate cementitious material in a solvent b) preparing a dispersion by mixing the suspension of step a) with an immiscible fluid so that (i) the suspension is present as a dispersed phase in the fluid as a dispersion medium or that (ii) the fluid is present as the dispersed phase in the suspension as the dispersion medium, such that the particulate material of the suspension adsorbs at least partially at a phase boundary between the fluid and the suspension, and c) allowing the particulate material adsorbed at the phase boundary to hydrate with the formation of an individual microcapsule.

System and method for manufacture of undercooled metallic core-shell particles
A system and method are presented for producing metallic core-shell particles. The system includes the housing having a hollow interior configured to receive and hold a molten metal input, a carrier fluid, and one or more reagents. The system also includes a shearing assembly positioned within the hollow interior of the housing. The shearing assembly is configured to, when the molten metal input, carrier fluid, and one or more reagents are held withing hollow interior and sealed within housing, shear the molten metal input into particles of an effective size so that a shell created on a surface of the particles via reaction with the one or more reagents prevents a core of the particles from solidifying when the particles are cooled to a temperature below a freezing temperature of the molten metal input.
