Extraction method of chitin nanocrystals using electron beam irradiation and chitin nanocrystal powder
The present disclosure relates to a method for extracting chitin nanocrystals through electron beam irradiation comprising the steps of: (i) irradiating a chitin-based solid material with an electron beam; (ii) washing the chitin-based solid material subjected to electron beam irradiation; (iii) adding a basic solution to the washed chitin-based solid material; (iv) high-pressure homogenizing the chitin-based solid material dispersed in an aqueous system to which the basic solution is added, to prepare a suspension containing chitin nanocrystals.
Conversion of natural gas to liquid form using a rotation/separation system in a chemical reactor
A system and method are provided for the separation of hydrogen from natural gas feedstock to form hydrocarbon radicals. Aspects of the system include perpendicular magnetic and electric fields, a method of radical formation that separates hydrogen from the reaction process, and a separation method based on centrifugal forces and phase transitions. The gases rotate in the chamber due to the Lorentz force without any mechanical motion. Rotation separates gases and liquids by centrifugal force. The lighter species are collected from the mid region endpoint of the apparatus and fed back for further reaction. A new concept of controlled turbulence is introduced to mix various species. A novel magnetic field device is introduced comprised of two specially magnetized cylinders. A novel control of temperatures, pressures, electron densities and profiles by, RF, microwaves, UV and rotation frequency are possible especially when atomic, molecular, cyclotron resonances are taken into account. The electrodes can be coated with catalysts; the entire apparatus can be used as a new type of chemical reactor.
GAS PRODUCTION FROM SOLIDS VIA NON-THERMAL PLASMA
A first voltage source produces a first voltage such as an AC voltage. Further, a first electrode of a hydrogen generation system conveys the first voltage. The first voltage conveyed over the first electrode generates low-temperature plasma extending between the first electrode and the mass of material. Presence of the low-temperature plasma releases gas from the mass of material.
SYSTEM FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE CHEMICAL PROCESSING
A method and apparatus for making carbon black. A plasma gas is flowed into a plasma forming region containing at least one, magnetically isolated, plasma torch containing at least one electrode, and forming a plasma. Collecting the plasma formed in a cooled header and flowing the plasma through at least one reaction region to heat the reaction region, and injecting carbon black forming feedstock into the reaction region, resulting in the formation of at least one grade of carbon black. An apparatus for making carbon black is also described including a plasma forming section containing at least one, magnetically isolated plasma torch containing at least one electrode, in fluid flow communication with at least one carbon black forming reactor section, the plasma section and reactor section separated by a plasma formed collection header.
Device for disinfectant agent application and generation and method of use
A device for obtaining and applying a disinfectant agent and method of use are provided. The device includes a pre-processing cascade unit that activates (ionizes) air, with the activated air being supplied by an air pump to an inlet of a sprayer, where the activated air mixes with an initial working fluid (distilled water) to form an activated air-working fluid aerosol mixture that is sprayed by the sprayer into a reactor of cone-shaped volumetric cold plasma that includes divergent discharge electrodes. The device further includes a unit for generating high-voltage pulses of a nanosecond duration that is connected to the discharge electrodes and that causes the electrodes to generate electrical discharges. Upon the mixture coming into contact with the electrical discharges, potent disinfectant agents (such as peroxynitrite and one or more peroxynitrite's precursors or derivatives) are synthesized and expelled from the device.
