HYDROPROCESS INTEGRATING OXIDIZED DISULFIDE OIL COMPOUNDS
20230002686 · 2023-01-05 ·

Oxidized disulfide oil (ODSO) compounds or ODSO compounds and disulfide oil (DSO) compounds are reacted with a hydrogen addition feed in a hydroprocessing complex. The hydrogen addition process can include naphtha hydrotreatment, middle distillate hydrotreatment, vacuum gas oil hydrocracking, and vacuum gas oil hydrotreatment. The ODSO or ODSO and DSO components are converted to hydrogen sulfide, water and alkanes.

Burner and process for producing synthesis gas

A burner for producing synthesis gas by partial oxidation of liquid or gaseous, carbon-containing fuels in the presence of an oxygen-containing oxidant and a moderator, which burner can be operated uncooled, i.e. without a fluid coolant being passed through the burner, is proposed. Steam or carbon dioxide or else mixtures of these materials are used as moderator. This is achieved by the feed channels being configured so that mixing of the fuel, the moderator and the oxidant occurs only outside the burner.

This disclosure also relates to processes for preparing static mixers. This disclosure also relates to continuous flow chemical reactors comprising the static mixers, systems comprising the continuous flow chemical reactors, processes for synthesising products using the continuous flow reactors, and methods for screening catalytic materials using the static mixers.

A CONTINUOUS FLOW REACTOR

A continuous flow reactor without any moving parts to facilitate solid-liquid reaction without clogging is disclosed herein. It comprises plurality of identical cavities in series/sequence, each cavity being provided with: a pair of inlets at the top to allow entry of reactants into the reactor; an outlet at the bottom to allow the reactants to the next cavity for mixing; and a jacket covering around the cavities to provide heating or cooling effect as per the requirement. The outlet of the previous cavity is inclined at a suitable angle relative to the outlet of the next cavity to prevent clogging and facilitate efficient mixing of the reactants.

Process for the synthesis of urea

A process for synthesis of urea from CO.sub.2 and NH.sub.3 wherein a steam flow (13) produced in the condenser (3) of a high-pressure synthesis loop is compressed to raise its pressure and temperature before using the steam as a heat source for a downstream step of the process.

PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR COLLECTING CATALYST OR POLYMER SAMPLES FROM AN OPERATION UNIT OF A POLYMERIZATION PLANT

A process (and a related system) for collecting samples of a polymerization catalyst or of a catalyst-containing polymer from an operation unit, having an upper end and a lower end, of a polymerization plant, including the steps of: a) extracting a prefixed amount of product from the lower end of the operation unit through a discharge valve; b) directing the product towards a filtering unit through an inlet valve; c) flushing an inert gas through the filtering unit; d) outgassing the filtering unit, through the outlet valve; and e) displacing the filtering unit, for collecting the sample.

HYDROCRACKING PROCESS

A process for hydrocracking a petroleum feedstock involves: (a) hydrocracking the feedstock to obtain a hydrocracked effluent; (b) liquid/gas separation of the effluent to obtain a gaseous effluent and a liquid effluent; (c) fractionating the liquid effluent at a pressure P1, producing a first distillate and a first residue, (d) recycling a first portion of the first residue to hydrocracking, (e) rectifying a second portion of the first residue at a pressure P2 lower than or equal to the pressure P1, to obtain a secondary distillate, a secondary residue and a vapor stream, (f) purging a portion of the secondary residue, and (g) recycling all or part of the secondary distillate to hydrocracking.

The process and apparatus according to the invention allow the production of hydrocarbons and ammonia without the use of catalysts. For this purpose, waste gases containing CO.sub.2 or N.sub.2 from an upstream process are fed to compression reactors. In addition, hydrogen from an electrolyzer is fed to these reactors to enable hydrogenation of the fed substances. Methane, alcohols and ammonia, for example, can be produced by this process. In order to increase the yield of the process, it is planned to raise the reactant pressure with the aid of a compressor.
