Deep desulphurization of low sulphur content feedstock
The invention pertains to a process for deep desulphurization of low sulphur content feedstock comprising the steps of providing a low sulphur content hydrocarbon feedstock and contacting said hydrocarbon feedstock with a cobalt-molybdenum desulphurizing system or a nickel-molybdenum desulphurizing system in an oxide form in order to obtain a very low sulphur product comprising less than 5 ppm by weight sulphur.
Oxygen storage material
The invention provides an oxygen storage material having high oxygen storage capacity and high thermal durability. The oxygen storage material of the invention has some of the La sites of La.sub.2CuO.sub.4 with a K.sub.2NiF.sub.4-type crystal structure replaced by Ce. The oxygen storage material may have the composition La.sub.(2.00-x)Ce.sub.xCuO.sub.4 (0.20≥×>0.00). The oxygen storage material may also have a precious metal supported. The precious metal may be Pt, Pd or Rh. The exhaust gas purification catalyst is an exhaust gas purification catalyst comprising an oxygen storage material according to the invention.
A PROCESS FOR PREPARING A MOLDING, A MOLDING AND USE THEREOF AS METHANE REFORMING CATALYST
The present invention relates to a process for preparing a molding comprising a mixed oxide comprising O, Mg, and Ni, the process comprising: —(i) mixing water, a Mg source, a Ni source, and an acid, to obtain a mixture; —(ii) subjecting the mixture obtained from (i) to a shaping process; —(iii) calcining the molding obtained from (ii) in a gas atmosphere having a temperature in the range of from 700 to 1400° C.; wherein the molar ratio of the acid used in (i) to Ni, calculated as elemental Ni, of the Ni source used in (i), acid:Ni, is equal to or higher than 0.001:1. Further, the present invention relates to a molding comprising a mixed oxide comprising O, Mg, and Ni, wherein the mixed oxide comprises a specific crystalline phase Ni.sub.xMg.sub.yO, wherein the sum of x and y is 1, and wherein y is greater than 0.52. The molding is used for reforming methane to a synthesis gas comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide.
COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING ZIRCONIUM AND CERIUM AND METHODS FOR PREPARING SAME USING OXALIC ACID AND SUPERCRITICAL DRYING
Disclosed herein are compositions containing zirconium and cerium having a surprisingly small particle size. The compositions disclosed herein contain zirconium, cerium, optionally yttrium, and optionally one or more other rare earth oxides other than cerium and yttrium. The compositions exhibit a particle size characterized by a D.sub.90 value of about 5 μm to about 30 μm and a D.sub.99 value of about 5 um to about 40 um. Further disclosed are processes of producing these compositions using oxalic acid and supercritical drying in the process. The compositions can be used as a catalyst and/or part of a catalytic system. The composition is prepared by co-precipitation using oxalic acid and supercritical drying.
Honeycomb-structured catalyst for organic substance decomposition and organic substance decomposing apparatus
A honeycomb-structured catalyst for decomposing an organic substance, which includes a catalyst particle. The catalyst particle contains a perovskite-type composite oxide represented by A.sub.xB.sub.yM.sub.zO.sub.w, where the A contains at least of Ba and Sr, the B contains Zr, the M is at least one of Mn, Co, Ni, and Fe, y+z=1, 1.001≤x≤1.05, 0.05≤z≤0.2, and w is a positive value that satisfies electrical neutrality. The toluene decomposition rate is greater than 90% when toluene is decomposed using the honeycomb-structured catalyst subjected to a heat treatment at 1200° C. for 48 hours and a gas that contains 50 ppm toluene, 80% nitrogen, and 20% oxygen as a volume concentration as a target at a space velocity of 30,000/h and a catalyst temperature of 400° C.

A method of turning a catalytic material by altering the charge state of a catalyst support. The catalyst support is intercalated with a metal ion, altering the charge state to alter and/or augment the catalytic activity of the catalyst material.
OCM CATALYST COMPOSITION HAVING IMPROVED STABILITY AND CARBON EFFICIENCY
The invention relates to a composition containing a catalyst having high catalytic stability for conducting oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) at high carbon efficiency, while improving both methane and oxygen conversion. Particularly, the inventive catalyst is a metal oxide supported catalyst, which contains an alkali metal promoter and a mixed metal oxide component having at least one alkali earth metal and at least one rare earth metal. The metal oxide support is selected in a manner, such that at least a portion of the metal oxide support is capable of reacting with at least a part or whole of the alkali metal promoter under conditions of calcination during catalyst preparation. The invention further provides a method for preparing such a metal oxide supported catalyst composition, using a calcination process. Additionally, the invention further describes a process for producing C.sub.2+ hydrocarbons, using such a catalyst composition.
Zirconia-based compositions for use as three way catalysts
A cerium-zirconium based mixed oxide composition have: (a) a Ce:Zr molar ratio of 1 or less, and (b) a cerium oxide content of 10-50% by weight. The composition has (i) a surface area of at least 18 m.sup.2/g, and a total pore volume as measured by N.sub.2 physisorption of at least 0.11 cm.sup.3/g, after ageing at 1100° C. in an air atmosphere for 6 hours, (ii) a surface area of at least 42 m.sup.2/g, and a total pore volume as measured by N.sub.2 physisorption of at least 0.31 cm.sup.3/g, after ageing at 1000° C. in an air atmosphere for 4 hours, and (iii) Dynamic Oxygen Storage Capacity (D-OSC) value as measured by H.sub.2-TIR of greater than 500 μmol/g at 600° C. after aging at 800° C. in an air atmosphere for 2 hours. Method for producing oxide catalyst, and method for producing unsaturated nitrile and unsaturated acid
The present invention provides a method for producing an oxide catalyst containing antimony, comprising a step (A) of obtaining the oxide catalyst using antimony particles containing a diantimony trioxide as a source of the antimony, wherein an abundance of a pentavalent antimony in a surface layer of the antimony particle to be measured in XPS analysis is less than 70 atom %, and the antimony particle has an average particle size of 1.2 μm or less.
