Catalytic dehydration of hydroxypropionic acid and its derivatives
Hydroxypropionic acid, hydroxypropionic acid derivatives, or mixtures thereof are dehydrated using a catalyst and a method to produce bio-acrylic acid, acrylic acid derivatives, or mixtures thereof. A method to produce the dehydration catalyst is also provided.
Auto thermal reforming (ATR) catalytic structures
An autothermal reforming catalytic structure for generating hydrogen gas from liquid hydrocarbons, steam and an oxygen source. The autothermal reforming catalytic structure includes a support structure and metal particles dispersed homogenously throughout the support structure.
CATALYST FOR DRY REFORMING METHANE TO SYNTHESIS GAS
A dry reforming methane to synthesis gas catalyst is provided. The catalyst has a primary metal of magnesia (MgO). A secondary metal is mixed with the primary metal. The primary metal and the secondary metal have crystalline structures that are close to one another so as to be in solid solution with the support and form a mono-crystalline structure.
PYROLYSIS REACTOR WITH INTEGRATED HEAT EXCHANGE
A direct contact heat exchanger for a molten media reactor can include a plurality of trays or stages disposed in a vessel, a molten media flow path configured to pass a molten media through the plurality of trays or stages, and a gas pathway disposed through the plurality of trays or stages. The gas pathway is configured to directly contact a gas phase fluid with the molten media on the plurality of trays or stages.
Processes for Dehydrogenating Alkanes and Alkyl Aromatic Hydrocarbons
A hydrocarbon can be contacted with dehydrogenation catalyst particles to produce an effluent that can include coked catalyst particles and dehydrogenated hydrocarbon(s). A first stream rich in coked catalyst particles and a second stream rich in dehydrogenated hydrocarbon(s) and containing entrained catalyst particles can be separated from the effluent. The second stream can be contacted with a first quench medium to produce a cooled stream. The cooled stream can be contacted with a second quench medium within a quench tower. A gaseous stream that includes the dehydrogenated hydrocarbon(s), a first quench medium stream, and a slurry stream that includes the second quench medium and the entrained catalyst particles can be separated from the tower. The first quench medium can be recycled. The entrained catalyst particles can be separated from the slurry to provide recovered second quench medium and recovered entrained catalyst particles. The recovered second quench medium can be recycled.
Auto thermal reforming (ATR) catalytic structures
An autothermal reforming catalytic structure for generating hydrogen gas from liquid hydrocarbons, steam and an oxygen source. The autothermal reforming catalytic structure includes a support structure and nanosized mixed metal oxide particles dispersed homogenously throughout the support structure.
OXYGEN STORAGE/RELEASE MATERIAL
An oxygen storage/release material includes: a ceria-zirconia composite oxide porous body that has at least one ordered phase of a pyrochlore phase and a ? phase, and that has a central pore diameter of 70 nm to 1 ?m as measured by a mercury penetration method, and in which a cumulative pore volume of pores that each have a pore diameter in the range of 0.5 times to 2 times the central pore diameter is 40% or more of the cumulative pore volume of pores that each have a pore diameter in the range of 10 nm to 10 ?m as measured by the mercury penetration method.
Post treated silver catalysts for epoxidation
The present disclosure generally relates to a silver-based epoxidation catalyst. In certain embodiments, a method is provided for modulating the reactivity of the silver-based epoxidation catalyst, comprising the catalyst being post-treated with at least two different salt solutions. In some embodiments, the treatment results in the deposition of one or more metals onto the surface of the catalyst. In further embodiments, method is also provided of using the silver catalyst to generate an epoxide from an olefin.
PROCESS FOR OXIDATIVE DESULFURIZATION WITH INTEGRATED SULFONE DECOMPOSITION
The process provided herein is concerned with disposal of oxidized sulfur compounds formed by oxidative desulfurization. The process uses solid base catalyst in the presence of a caustic solution or solid base catalyst pretreated with a base and eliminates the need to separate the sulfones from the hydrocarbon streams and recover the hydrocarbons.
Polycondensation catalyst for producing polyester and method for producing polyester using the same
The invention provides a polycondensation catalyst for producing polyester by an esterification reaction or a transesterification reaction between a dicarboxylic acid or ester-forming derivative thereof and a glycol, wherein the polycondensation catalyst comprises particles of a solid base having on their surfaces either a coat layer of titanic acid in an amount of from 0.1 to 50 parts by weight in terms of TiO.sub.2 per 100 parts by weight of the solid base, or an inner coat layer of an oxide of at least one element selected from silicon, aluminum and zirconium or a composite oxide of at least two elements selected from silicon, aluminum and zirconium in an amount of from 1 to 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the solid base and an outer coat layer of titanic acid in an amount of from 0.1 to 50 parts by weight in terms of TiO.sub.2 per 100 parts by weight of the solid base, and wherein the solid base is hydrotalcite.
