CARBON NANOTUBE COMPOSITE CATALYTIC FILM AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME
A method for making a carbon nanotube composite catalytic film includes providing a carbon nanotube film and providing a precursor solution including iron nitrate, nickel chloride, and molybdenum pentachloride. The precursor solution is placed on the carbon nanotube film, to obtain a precursor film. The precursor film defines multiple through holes spaced apart from each other. The precursor film with the multiple through holes is annealed and a sulfur power is applied during annealing the precursor film with the multiple through holes.
Process for the treatment of waste water
The invention provides a process for treating waste water from an industrial process for producing propylene oxide, which process comprises subjecting the waste water to a catalytic wet oxidation treatment in the presence of a catalyst comprising metal nanoparticles-doped porous carbon beads.

Methods of sulfurizing metal containing particles
Methods of sulfurizing metal containing particles in the absence of hydrogen are described. One method includes contacting a bed of metal containing particles with a gaseous stream comprising hydrogen sulfide and inert gas under reaction conditions sufficient to produce sulfided metal containing particles. The gaseous stream is introduced into a vertical reactor at an inlet positioned at the bottom portion of the reactor and any unreacted hydrogen sulfide and inert gas is removed at an outlet positioned above the inlet. The sulfided metal containing particles can be removed from the reactor and stored.

System and method for making fuels
Embodiments of a system and method are disclosed for obtaining high-energy fuels. In some embodiments, the system and method produces one or more fused cyclic compounds that can include one or more bridging points. The fused cyclic compounds are suitable for use as a high-energy fuels, and may be derived from biomass.
METAL FOAM SUPPORTED CATALYST AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
The invention relates to methods for producing supported catalysts, comprising: providing a metal foam element A made of nickel; applying an aluminum-containing powder MP to metal foam element A, such that metal foam element AX is obtained; thermally treating metal foam element AX in order to form an alloy between metal foam element A and the aluminum-containing powder MP, such that metal foam element B is obtained; oxidatively treating metal foam element B, such that metal foam element C is obtained; and applying a catalytically active layer, comprising at least one carrier oxide and at least one catalytically active component, to at least one part of the surface of metal foam element C, such that a supported catalyst is obtained. The invention also relates to the supported catalysts obtained according to the method, and to the use thereof in chemical transformations.
Catalytic carbon fiber preparation methods
A method of producing a catalytic carbon fiber may include: oxidizing a virgin carbon fiber to produce an oxidized carbon fiber; reacting the oxidized carbon fiber with a polyamine compound to produce an amine modified carbon fiber; and reacting the amine modified carbon fiber with an organometallic macrocycle to produce the catalytic carbon fiber.
