PROCESSES FOR ISOMERIZING ALPHA OLEFINS
Processes are described for isomerizing one or more C.sub.14-C.sub.24 alpha olefins to produce an isomerization mixture comprising one or more C.sub.14-C.sub.24 internal olefins comprising contacting an olefinic feed comprising the one or more C.sub.14-C.sub.24 alpha olefins with a catalyst under isomerization conditions, wherein the catalyst comprises a microporous crystalline aluminosilicate having an MWW framework. The resulting isomerization mixture typically exhibits a low pour point with maintained biodegradability properties as compared to the olefinic feed, and is particularly useful in drilling fluid and paper sizing compositions.
TITANIUM CARBIDE NANOSHEET/LAYERED INDIUM SULFIDE HETEROJUNCTION AND APPLICATION THEREOF IN DEGRADING AND REMOVING WATER POLLUTANTS
The invention provides a titanium carbide nanosheet/layered indium sulfide heterojunction and an application of the same in degrading and removing water pollutants. A simple electrostatic self-assembly method is used to uniformly absorb indium ions on the surfaces of Ti.sub.3C.sub.2 nanosheets, which effectively inhibits the stacking of the nanosheets and is beneficial to the uniform growth of In.sub.2S.sub.3 nanosheets on the surfaces of the Ti.sub.3C.sub.2. The present invent overcomes two disadvantages of too fast photogenerated carrier recombination rate of In.sub.2S.sub.3 and easy agglomeration of nano-scale In.sub.2S.sub.3, and effectively improves the separation efficiency and photocatalytic activity of photogenerated electron-hole of In.sub.2S.sub.3.
OXOVANADIUM PHOSPHATE CATALYST, AND PREPARATION METHOD AND APPLICATION THEREFOR
Provided are an oxovanadium phosphate catalyst, and a preparation method and an application therefor. The method includes: 1) mixing and reacting a vanadium source, a choline chloride-organic carboxylic acid eutectic solvent, and alcohol; 2) mixing the obtained reaction product with a phosphorus source, raising the temperature to a temperature higher than the melting point of the eutectic solvent, and continuing the reaction to obtain an oxovanadium phosphate precursor; and 3) calcining to obtain the oxovanadium phosphate catalyst. The alcohol is: benzyl alcohol or a mixture of C.sub.3-C.sub.8 monohydric alcohol and benzyl alcohol. The present method uses a green and inexpensive eutectic solvent to strengthen the preparation of oxovanadium phosphate catalyst, avoids the disadvantages of the prior art, and overcoming the problems of low yield and poor selectivity when used in a reaction to prepare maleic anhydride by catalytic n-butane selective oxidisation.
Catalyst manufacturing method
A method for producing a catalyst or catalyst precursor is described including: applying a slurry of a particulate catalyst compound in a carrier fluid to an additive layer manufactured support structure to form a slurry-impregnated support, and drying and optionally calcining the slurry-impregnated support to form a catalyst or catalyst precursor. The mean particle size (D50) of the particulate catalyst compound in the slurry is in the range 1-50 m and the support structure has a porosity 0.02 ml/g.
Metal doped cerium oxide compositions
The present invention concerns a process for the production of metal doped cerium compositions comprising a cerium oxide and a metal oxide by precipitation. The invention also concerns metal doped cerium compositions providing high crystallites size and exhibiting high thermal stabilities, which may be used as a catalytic support or for polishing applications.
Moisture and hydrogen-absorbing getter and method for manufacturing same
A moisture and hydrogen adsorption getter is provided. The moisture and hydrogen adsorption getter includes a silicon substrate including a concave portion and a convex portion, a silicon oxide layer conformally provided along a surface of the concave portion and a surface of the convex portion and configured to adsorb moisture, and a hydrogen adsorption pattern disposed on the silicon oxide layer. A portion of the silicon oxide layer is exposed between portions of the hydrogen adsorption pattern.
Composition and method for treating dye wastewater
A composition for treating dye wastewater and method of synthesizing said composition, is disclosed. The composition is a catalyst composition used for ultrasound irradiation process. The composition comprises a copper sulfide and cobalt ferrite (Cu.sub.2S/CoFe.sub.2O.sub.4) nanocomposite material, and hydrogen peroxide (H.sub.2O.sub.2). Further, the present invention also discloses a method for treating dye wastewater using said nanocomposite catalyst composition. The composition according to the present invention, provides a novel, eco-friendly and economical method for the complete degradation of the organic dye pollutants from the industrial wastewater. Further, the sonocatalyst has enough stability, as its structure and degradation ability does not change even after multiple use. Further, the sonocatalyst could be easily separated and reused from a waste water, without any need for complex separation process.
