Ion-exchange resin regeneration system

An ion-exchange resin regeneration system includes: salt water flowing means that flows an aqueous sodium chloride solution or an aqueous potassium chloride solution into a container storing ion-exchange resin; and hard water component crystallizing means that crystallizes and removes hard water components containing metal ions from drained water arising from the ion-exchange resin through which the aqueous sodium chloride solution or the aqueous potassium chloride solution has flowed.

WATER SOFTENER

Water softening system includes water softening tank, neutralization tank, electrolysis tank, and treatment tank. Water softening tank softens raw water containing a hardness component with weakly acidic cation exchange resin. Neutralization tank neutralizes a pH of soft water that has flowed through water softening tank with weakly basic anion exchange resin. Electrolysis tank generates acidic electrolyzed water for regenerating weakly acidic cation exchange resin of water softening tank and alkaline electrolyzed water for regenerating weakly basic anion exchange resin of neutralization tank. Treatment tank mixes the acidic electrolyzed water that has flowed through water softening tank and the alkaline electrolyzed water that has flowed through neutralization tank, and supplies the mixture of the acidic electrolyzed water and the alkaline electrolyzed water to electrolysis tank.

Water softener apparatus

A water softener apparatus comprises two water softener tanks one of which is always operating, valves controlling the flow of water and a flow-meter, wherein, after a set volume of water has passed through one tank, water is passed through the other tank. The apparatus uses ion-exchange tanks which may be regenerated by brine when not softening hard water. The flow-meter preferably comprises an actuator which moves in a cyclic movement in response to the flow of a set quantity of water and actuates two service valves which send pressured water signals to a drain shuttle valve. The drain shuttle valve then diverts hard water from one tank to another and initiates regeneration of the first tank. A regeneration meter terminates the alternate regeneration of the two tanks. The regeneration meter is positioned in the apparatus of a point where brine for regeneration of the two water softener components is received into the apparatus.

WATER SOFTENER SALT MONITORING SYSTEM

A water softener salt monitoring system includes a brine tank configured for retaining a quantity of salt, a quantity of water and having a bottom, a sensor secured to the brine tank and constructed and arranged for sending a signal to the bottom, the sensor including a receiver configured for receiving a reflected signal off of at least one of the quantity of salt, the quantity of water and the bottom, and a controller connected to the sensor and programmed to compare the reflected signals with preset values, and for generating an alarm signal upon receipt of deviations from the preset values.

Water Softener Brine Tank Salt Bag Splitter

The present invention is a water softener brine tank salt bag splitter with a blade and telescoping mounting rod positioned below the tank lid to accommodate a variety of tank sizes and stiffen the lateral flexibility of the tank sidewall. Looped vertical mounting brackets secure over and around the upper edge of the tank sidewall to preserve the seal between the tank sidewall and lid. The mounting rod and brackets form a platform to support the weight of a salt bag when pouring salt pellets into the tank. The configuration of the brackets and the weight of the bag locks the bracket in place to prevent the blade from rotating when the bag drops down onto the blade. The device includes a rod assembly with an adjustable length, a cutting blade attached to a surface of the rod assembly, and brackets connectable to first and second ends of the rod assembly.

Water softening device and method of operating a water softening device

A water softening device includes a filter configured to decrease hardness of a first stream of raw water to produce a second stream of water with decreased hardness, a first sensor that measures an electrical property of the first stream, a second sensor that measures an electrical property of the second stream, and optionally, a third sensor that detects a water flow through the filter, wherein the filter includes an ion exchange resin operated in H.sup.+-mode, and the filter is buffered with at least one salt selected from the group of a potassium salt (K.sup.+), a sodium salt (Na.sup.+) and a lithium salt (Li.sup.+).

Compressed salt block for a liquid treatment apparatus

The invention relates to a compressed salt block comprising a longitudinally extending elongated body having a vertical longitudinal axis, a top horizontal face, a bottom horizontal face. The block portion has a rectangular cross-section taken in a horizontal plane that is perpendicular to the vertical longitudinal axis, wherein the rectangular cross-section is defined by a major front exterior surface that is a base surface of the block portion, a major rear surface, and a pair of exterior minor surfaces. An extension portion is formed integrally with the major rear surface of the rectangular cross-section of the block portion as a single compressed salt block, wherein the extension portion has a cross-sectional area in said horizontal plane in the form of a right truncated triangle, the extension portion having a first exterior side that is contiguous with one of the pair of exterior minor side surfaces of the block portion, a second side that is contiguous with the major rear surface of the block portion, and an exterior hypotenuse side that extends at an acute angle relative to the base surface of the block portion from a rear edge of the first exterior side toward the major rear surface of the block portion. A horizontal cross section of the elongated body is constant along the vertical longitudinal axis of the elongated body and the exterior hypotenuse side of the extension portion defines a functional face adapted to abut against a vertical wall or an exterior vertical surface of a tank of a water softener apparatus to position the compressed salt block within said water softener apparatus.
