A method for manufacturing particles including (a) bringing at least one starting material into a reactor, (b) subjecting the at least one starting material to a thermal treatment of a pulsating process gas stream in a treatment zone of the reactor, (c) forming particles, and (d) bringing the particles which are obtained in steps (b) and (c) out of the reactor. The at least one starting material is thermally treated in the treatment zone at a treatment temperature of 100° C. to 3000° C. and a retention time in the range of 0.1 s to 25 s, and temperature regulation of the process gas stream is decoupled from the generation and maintenance of a pulsation of the process gas stream. Also provided is a reactor for manufacturing particles according to the method.

A system has a reactor vessel, the reactor vessel having one or more inlets to allow a reducing agent, the agricultural oil, the separation solvent, and other additives as needed to produce a reaction mixture, a temperature control unit to control a temperature of the reaction mixture at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time, a neutralization vessel fluidically connected to the reactor vessel to receive the reaction mixture from the reactor vessel, the neutralization vessel having an inlet to allow a neutralization agent to be introduced into the neutralization vessel to produce a neutralized reaction mixture, and a valve arranged at a bottom of the neutralization vessel to allow an aqueous phase of the reaction mixture to be drained from the neutralization vessel.

Processes and apparatus for preparing bimodal polymers are provided. In some embodiments, processes include introducing a monomer, a first diluent, a catalyst, hydrogen, at a first hydrogen concentration, and optional comonomer, to a first loop reactor to produce, under polymerization conditions, a first slurry of polymer solids. Processes may also include continuously discharging the first slurry of polymer solids from the loop reactor as a first polymerization effluent to a first flash tank; separating the first polymerization effluent in the first flash tank to provide a first concentrated polymer slurry with significantly lower hydrogen concentration; and transferring the first concentrated polymer slurry from the flash tank to a re-slurry mixer. Processes may further include introducing a re-slurry mixer diluent to the first concentrated polymer slurry to form a second concentrated polymer slurry in the re-slurry mixer that can be pumped to a second slurry loop reactor.

The present invention relates to a method for producing purified phosgene vapor, comprising the following steps: 1) providing a gas flow obtainable from the reaction of chlorine with carbon monoxide and comprising phosgene and carbon monoxide; 2) one-stage or multi-stage condensation of the gas flow and separation of non-condensable residue gases; 3) one-stage or multi-stage evaporation of the liquid phosgene obtained in step 2) and optional overheating of the produced phosgene vapour, wherein there is an energy integration between one or more of the condensation steps of step 2) and one or more of the evaporation steps in step 3) and the pressure in the last condensation step is between 0.2 and 6.0 bar higher than in the first evaporation step.
