METHOD FOR SOLVENT RECOVERY AND ACTIVATED CARBON REGENERATION
An activated carbon device for adsorbing solvent from a flow of air is regenerated by feeding heated inert gas to the activated carbon and by applying a reduced pressure to the heated activated carbon.
Method for designing multi-valve uni-direction blowdown system for a high pressure tubular reactor
Provided herein is a unidirectional blow down system for a high-pressure tubular reactor with a hyper that minimizes the tube wall metal temperature during a decomposition event wherein the system prevents the reactor walls from reaching a temperature capable of causing the tube metal to austenize. Also provided are methods of designing and methods of operating a unidirectional blowdown system.
System and process for converting waste plastic into fuel
An apparatus is provided for processing reusable fuel comprising: a continuous material supply assembly; a heated airlock feeder configured to continuously receive and process the material supply received therein; a reactor configured to receive the processed material from the heated airlock feeder; and a vapor refining system configured to process vapor supplied by the reactor. The apparatus may comprise a char disposal system configured to eliminate char from the reactor. The apparatus may also comprise a thermal expansion system configured to allow thermal expansion of the reactor. A cooling system may be configured to receive processed fuel from the reactor.
System for producing an American Petroleum Institute Standards Group III Base Stock from vacuum gas oil
A system for producing American Petroleum Institute Standards Group III Base Stock from vacuum gas oil, by injecting hydrogen, heating, partially saturating the vacuum gas oil through a plurality of hydrogen reactors connected in series with a liquid hourly space velocity (LHSV).sup.1 of from 0.5 to 2.5, forming a saturated heated base oil, and coproduct. The system fractionates the saturated heated base oil to while simultaneously refluxing a cooled fuel oil fraction forming an American Petroleum Institute Standards Group III Base Stock with less than 0.03% sulfur, with greater than 90% saturates and a viscosity index greater than 120 as defined by ASTM D-2270, a viscosity from 2 to 10 centistokes as defined by ASTM D-445 a boiling range from 600 degrees F. to 1050 degrees F., and a cold crank viscosity (CCS) between 1200 and 5000 centipoise at 25 degrees C. and as defined by ASTM D-5293.
HYDROPROCESSING SYSTEM WITH IMPROVED COOLING LIQUID ATOMIZATION
A hydroprocessing system having a processing vessel that discharges a high temperature effluent that must be cooled prior to collection in a reflux drum. One or more gas assisted spray nozzle are provided that utilize light atomizing gas having a density of 8-15 times less than air, such as hydrogen, which preferably is the processing or recycle gas of the system. The spray nozzles are designed for the efficient atomization and direction of cooling water into a micron sized droplet distribution utilizing the light atomizing gas for affecting higher mass and heat transfer from the effluent. The spray nozzles each include a unique atomizing gas and cooling liquid passageway systems, a downstream impingement post, and a plurality of discharge orifices which sequentially breakdown the liquid into micron sized droplets as low as 500 microns and less.
IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO PROPELLANT CONDITIONING ASSEMBLIES
In the field of medical dosing device filling, a propellant conditioning assembly (10) comprises an input conduit (12) to receive a propellant at a constant pressure from a propellant reservoir (102). The conditioning assembly (10) also includes a bifurcation (18) to divide the input conduit (12) into first and second conditioning conduits (20, 22). The first conditioning conduit (20) includes a cooler device (24) to selectively cool a diverted first propellant stream (26) that flows through the first conditioning conduit (20), and the second conditioning conduit (22) includes a heater device (32) to selectively heat a diverted second propellant stream (34) that flows through the second conditioning conduit (22). The conditioning assembly (10) still further includes an output conduit (44) to receive the first and second propellant streams (26, 34). The relative proportion of the first and second propellant streams (26, 34) merging in the output conduit (44) is controlled to regulate the temperature of a merged constant pressure propellant feed (46) exiting from the output conduit (44).
WITHDRAWAL SYSTEM
A withdrawal system for withdrawing particulate matter from a high-temperature unit of a high-temperature industrial process is disclosed. The withdrawal system comprises a material storage silo that comprises a vent line containing a first vent valve, one or more temperature sensors to measure temperature of the particulate matter in the material transfer line, and a controller that receives output measurements from the one or more temperature sensors to monitor and control flow of the particulate matter. The system does not contain a receiving vessel located in the material transfer line between the high-temperature unit and the material storage silo.
