A method of fabricating a furniture glide is provided. The method includes the step of providing a furniture engaging layer having first and second surfaces. A slide is positioned adjacent to the second surface of the furniture engaging layer. The slide is fabricated from a meltable material. The slide is heated so as to cause a portion of the meltable material to melt and flow into the furniture engaging layer. Solidification of the portion of meltable material in the furniture engaging layer bonds the slide to the furniture engaging layer.

The present invention relates to a glide assembly to connect adjacent furniture legs on items such as, for example, chairs or tables. For example, chairs can have a glide assembly attached at the bottom of each of its front legs or to all of its legs, or a table can have a glide attached to some or all of its legs. Each glide may have a magnet that, when mated with adjacent glide's magnet, connects the chair legs and/or table legs together, without requiring tools or mechanical fasteners to connect or disconnect. The magnets used to connect the chairs and tables together allows one to easily attach or detach chairs and/or tables. Use of male/female glide assemblies increases the resistance to accidental disconnection.

A furniture slide which connects to a furniture leg of a piece of furniture having a plurality of legs, includes a furniture leg connecting surface configured to preferably be removably connected to the furniture leg of the furniture item and a base having a first portion extending from the furniture leg connecting surface and a second portion extending outwardly beyond and inwardly of a perimeter formed about of the furniture legs when the slide is connected thereto.

A furniture slide which connects to a furniture leg of a piece of furniture having a plurality of legs, includes a furniture leg connecting surface configured to preferably be removably connected to the furniture leg of the furniture item and a base having a first portion extending from the furniture leg connecting surface and a second portion extending outwardly beyond and inwardly of a perimeter formed about of the furniture legs when the slide is connected thereto.

A swivel glide is disclosed herein. The swivel glide can include an upper member coupled to a leg of a furniture and a lower member coupled to the upper member via a ball and socket joint. Both the upper member and the lower member are manufactured via injection molding methods. In one example, a cavity side mold and a core side mold can be coupled together prior to injection molding the upper member. Once finished, the molds can be separated and the upper member can be removed from the molds. In another example, the lower member is injection molded and the upper member is injection molded on top of the lower member.

A surface protector includes a surface protector base, a hollow nail attachment component embedded within the surface protector base, and a pad adjacent the surface protector base. The hollow nail attachment component includes a base, an upper edge protruding from the surface protector base, and a wall extending between the base and the upper edge. In some examples, the upper edge is serrated. The upper edge can be configured to attach to a piece of furniture.
