Antifouling oligomerization catalyst systems

According to one embodiment, a catalyst system that reduces polymeric fouling may comprise at least one titanate compound, at least one aluminum compound, and at least one antifouling agent or a derivative thereof. The antifouling agent may comprise a structure comprising a central aluminum molecule bound to an R1 group, bound to an R2 group, and bound to an R3 group. One or more of the chemical groups R1, R2, and R3 may be antifouling groups comprising the structure —O((CH.sub.2).sub.nO).sub.mR4, where n is an integer from 1 to 20, m is an integer from 1 to 100, and R4 is a hydrocarbyl group. The chemical groups R1, R2, or R3 that do not comprise the antifouling group, if any, may be hydrocarbyl groups.

MICROSTRUCTURE-CONTROLLED COPOLYMERS OF ETHYLENE AND C3-C10 ALPHA-OLEFINS

A copolymer including ethylene units and units of one or more C.sub.3-10 alpha-olefins. The copolymer has a number average molecular weight of less than 5,000 g/mol, as measured by GPC. The ethylene unit content of the copolymer is less than 80 mol %. 70 mol % or greater of the copolymer has a carbon-carbon double bond in a terminal monomer unit, and at least 70 mol % of the terminal unsaturation is vinylidene, one or more tri-substituted isomers of the vinylidene or any combination thereof. The copolymer has a crossover temperature of −20° C. or lower and/or a certain average ethylene run length. Also disclosed are a method for making the copolymer and polyolefins plasticized with 1-40 wt. % of the copolymer. The copolymers may low metal (ash) and/or fluorine contents.

The present invention relates to a ligand, an ethylene oligomerization catalyst including the ligand, and a method for selectively producing 1-hexene or 1-octene from ethylene by using the catalyst. The ligand according to the present invention is a bis(diphenylphosphino)ethene with a phosphorus atom substituted with a fluoro-substituted phenyl, and when the ligand is used for ethylene oligomerization, the high temperature activity of the catalyst can be increased.

The present invention describes a catalyst composition for use as a catalyst system for an ethylene olisomerization, providing high activity and produce linear oligomer product having broad weight percent distribution i.e. C.sub.4 to C.sub.16. The present invention also provides a process for preparation of the zirconium amide compound comprising reacting a zirconium component having formula ZrX.sub.mnTHF, wherein X is halogen atom; m is an integer having value equal or less than 4 and n is a number equal or less than 2, and a substituted amide of formula RCONR′R″, wherein R, R′ and R″ are saturated or unsaturated aliphatic C.sub.1-C.sub.10 hydrocarbon or aromatic C.sub.6-C.sub.14 hydrocarbon, in the presence of an organic solvent.

Method of olefin oligomerization

The present invention relates to a method for olefin oligomerization, and can provide a method for olefin oligomerization. The method includes the steps of: introducing an oligomerization transition metal catalyst, olefin monomers, and a solvent into a reactor and performing an olefin oligomerization reaction to produce an oligomer; introducing a catalyst deactivator to a reaction product of the oligomerization reaction to deactivate the catalyst, with the catalyst deactivator including at least one functional group containing at least one selected from the group including oxygen, phosphor, nitrogen, and sulfur and having a number average molecular weight of 400 or more; separating the oligomer through distillation in a distiller; and separating the catalyst deactivator through the bottom end of the distiller.

A system and methods for manufacturing a base oil stock from a light hydrocarbon stream are provided. An example method includes cracking a light hydrocarbon stream to form an impure olefinic stream, separating water from the impure olefinic stream, and oligomerizing the impure olefinic stream to form a raw oligomer stream. A light olefinic stream from the raw oligomer stream and linear alpha olefins are recovered from the light olefinic stream. A heavy olefinic stream is distilled from the raw oligomer stream and hydro-processed to form a hydro-processed stream. They hydro-processed stream is distilled to form the base oil stock.
