Foot for molded plastic furniture
A foot for molded plastic furniture has a pad portion made of a first plastic or thermoplastic rubber and an anchor portion made of a second harder plastic or metal. The anchor has a base with a substantially flat surface that is bonded to a substantially flat top surface of the pad. Preferably the anchor portion and pad portion are co-extruded. A projection having at least one rib extends from the base of the anchor and is inserted into a cavity in a furniture leg creating a reliable mechanical fit which resists removal of the foot from the leg.

A foot for molded plastic furniture has a pad portion made of a first plastic or thermoplastic rubber and an anchor portion made of a second harder plastic or metal. The anchor has a base with a substantially flat surface that is bonded to a substantially flat top surface of the pad. Preferably the anchor portion and pad portion are co-extruded. A projection having at least one rib extends from the base of the anchor and is inserted into a cavity in a furniture leg creating a reliable mechanical fit which resists removal of the foot from the leg.

The peripheral edge portion has a first density and the floor engaging surface portion has a second density, the first density being greater than the second density. The peripheral edge portion extends away from the floor engaging surface portion such that the peripheral edge portion does not contact an associated supporting surface when the floor engaging surface portion is in contact with the associated supporting surface, whereby the peripheral edge portion has a relatively more durable surface as compared to the floor engaging surface portion.

The furniture leg protective sock includes friction material which is located on the inner surface of the furniture leg protective sock and a stabilizing material, which is located in the gap between the inner surface of the inner layer and the inner surface of the outer layer, to provide rigidity and stretchability to furniture leg protective sock. The furniture leg protective sock also includes non-penetrating material, which is located in a bottom portion of the furniture leg protective sock to prevent a furniture leg from piercing through the furniture leg protective sock.
