A pipette module 10 has a pipette-module frame 12 attachable to the z-axis frame 120 of a liquid handling system 100. A translatory-motion frame 14 attached to the pipette-module frame 12 is movable with respect thereto by a motor 16. A pneumatic aspirator assembly 18 including a cylinder 20, tube 24, tube tip 26 and pressure sensor 28 is attached to the translatory-motion frame 14. A piston 22 disposed in the cylinder 20 is fixedly attached to the frame 12. A controller 30 for the pipette module 10 has a liquid surface detection mode which enables a pressure feedback control algorithm causing the motor 16 to move the translatory-motion frame 14 in a z-axis translator motion until a change in a pressure in the tip 26 as sensed by the pressure sensor 28 indicates that the tip 26 has made contact with the liquid surface 110.

ECO-FRIENDLY RECYCLABLE DROPPER AND BOTTLE
20230075210 · 2023-03-09 ·

The present invention discloses an eco-friendly recyclable dropper, comprising a pressing portion and a pipette, wherein a bottom of the pressing portion is wrapped around a top of the pipette, wherein a bottom inner wall of the pressing portion includes a concave groove, wherein a top outer wall of the pipette includes a corresponding convex circle, wherein the concave groove matches with the convex circle and become airtight based on the characteristics of both material, wherein the pressing portion is made of PE material, wherein the pipette is made of PP material. Since the pressing head is made of PE material or a mixture material of PE and PP, and the pipette is made of PP material, a combination of the pressing head and the pipette is better in airtightness comparing to prior arts using glass pipettes; furthermore, the design of the pressing head and the concave groove and the convex circle of the pipette provides better airtightness; the dropper and the bottle of this invention both used PP and PE material, which can be fully recycled and reused after using the liquid within, avoids environmental pollution and saves resources. The market of this invention is very wide and this invention has a breakthrough meaning in the dropper field.

The dropper is composed entirely of recyclable material that complies with specifications of a same recycle code. In one embodiment, the bulb, the pipette and the cap each includes a cycle symbol for cycle code “5”. The dropper is recyclable as a single unit. In one embodiment, the pipette includes an undercut on an inside of the pipette nearest the bulb. In one embodiment, the dropper also includes a button and a collar, and the dropper is attached to a bottle such that depressing the button squeezes the bulb and causes the dropper to dispense contents of bottle. In one embodiment, the dropper includes a combined bulb and cap composed entirely of recyclable material that complies with recycle code of “5” specifications.

Pipetting apparatus with a pipette tube and method for detecting a liquid within an intermediate section of a pipette tube
11471876 · 2022-10-18 · ·

A pipetting apparatus and method capable of detecting a liquid within an intermediate section of a pipette tube of the pipetting apparatus. The intermediate section is located between an upper section of the pipette tube at which a first electrode is arranged and a lower section at which a second electrode is arranged. The first and second electrodes form a measurement capacitor and are operationally connected to an impedance measurement unit, which is adapted to detect whether liquid, such as a portion of a sample liquid or system liquid, is present within the intermediate section based on the measured impedance or change of impedance, e.g. an increase of the capacitance and/or a decrease of the resistance, of the measurement capacitor caused by a presence of the liquid within the intermediate section.

AUTOMATED SOLID PHASE EXTRACTION USING FILTER TIPS

Devices and methods for performing pre-analysis sample processing of biological and chemical samples using robotic liquid handlers are disclosed. Methods for solid phase extraction, protein precipitation and filtration of biological and chemical samples using automation and the devices in a rapid and convenient way are described.

Processing method for volatile liquid and liquid processing apparatus

A processing method for a volatile liquid using a pipette includes a low-volatility liquid suction step of sucking a low-volatility liquid that is less volatile than the volatile liquid through the suction/ejection port, an air suction step of sucking air through the suction/ejection port after the low-volatility liquid suction step, and a volatile liquid suction step of sucking the volatile liquid through the suction/ejection port after the air suction step.

Tip removal in automated pipette module

An automatic pipette system is provided which includes a module body, said body including a stationary contact surface, and an ejection assembly, including a mount for a pipette tip, and a motor, located within the module body and configured to: dispense liquid by actuating a piston in a cylinder, and to move the ejector assembly in a first direction in such a manner that the pipette tip contacts the contact surface and disengages from the mount.

Droplet-based assay system

System for performing a flow-based assay. The system may comprise a droplet generator to produce an emulsion including droplets in a carrier fluid. The system also may comprise a thermocycler including two or more temperature-controlled zones and also including a channel connected to the droplet generator for receiving the emulsion. The channel may form a single-pass continuous fluid route traversing the temperature-controlled zones multiple times, such that droplets passing through the channel are thermally cycled. The system further may comprise a detection station downstream from the thermocycler and configured to detect a signal from the droplets after such droplets have been thermally cycled by passing through the channel.
