Dispenser nozzle residue mitigation
The present disclosure is directed to methods and devices for reducing or otherwise mitigating accumulated reagent material and/or fluids within a dispense nozzle of a dispenser.
Device for locking a volume adjustment screw for a pipetting system
A device for locking a volume adjustment screw for a pipetting system, comprising a control member which rotates as one with a position selector, the member cooperating with a locking wheel such that: when the selector is in the free adjustment position, the member ensures that the wheel is axially spaced from another wheel, such that the teeth of the wheels do not cooperate with each other; when the selector is in the fine adjustment position, the member allows the wheel to move away from and then to move axially towards the other wheel while transitioning from one tooth to another; when the selector is in the locking position, the member axially locks the wheel to prevent the teeth from being disengaged.
Using electrokinetic forces to manipulate suspended particles
Devices and methods for capturing biological materials using a potential well. An electrical signal is applied across a nanopipette having one end in a back-fill chamber and another end in a collection chamber containing a suspending medium including one or more types of particles. The collection end of the nanopipette includes a tip having an opening. The electrical signal applied across the nanopipette is configured to generate the potential well proximate to the tip in which the electrokinetic forces acting on the particles are balanced. The potential well may be configured to selectively trap one or the other types of particles suspended in the suspending medium. The particles may be transferred to a sample collection medium by immersing the tip in the sample collection medium and reversing the polarity of the electrical signal.

System for loading pipette tips
A system for loading pipette tips. A system for accommodating pipette tips is provided, comprising a tray having openings for accommodating pipette tips in a plate, wherein the openings have at their upper end a surrounding contour which has curved surface area corresponding to a section of a spherical washer, and pipette tips having at their upper end an offset forming a contact surface for the surrounding contour of the tray's opening, wherein the shape of the contact surface corresponds to the section of a spherical washer so that the centers of both spheres of surrounding contour and contact surface are congruent
Pipette tip adapter
An adapter for connecting an array of pipette tips having through bores with conical upper ends to a multichannel air displacement pipettor having a plurality of ports with compliant internal sealing surfaces. The adapter comprises a planar base with an array of openings extending between its top and bottom surfaces. Sealing tubes project upwardly from the top surface, and tip mounting tubes project downwardly from the bottom surface, with pairs of sealing tubes and tip mounting tubes being arranged coaxially and in communication with respective ones of the openings in the base. The tip mounting tubes are externally dimensioned and configured for insertion into the conical upper ends of the pipette tips, and the sealing tubes are externally configured and dimensioned for insertion into the ports of the pipettor and into sealing interengagement with their compliant internal sealing surfaces.
Pipette tip containing one or more barriers
A pipette tip according to certain embodiments includes a proximal end, a distal end, and a reagent chamber. The proximal end is dimensioned to fit on an end of a pipettor, and includes a proximal end opening. The distal end includes a distal end opening. The reagent chamber has a reagent composition disposed therein. The reagent chamber is defined at least in part by a proximal barrier and a distal barrier. The reagent composition is operable to pass through the distal end opening upon rupturing of the distal barrier.
Wiper for liquid product applicator
A wiping device for a fluid product applicator including a first part forming a support, a second part forming a wiping sleeve, the wiping sleeve making it possible to wipe an applicator stick immersing in a liquid product, the first part forming a support including an annular base resting on a mouth of the container, with an axial bearing collar and a tubular portion, the second part forming a wiping sleeve including a central passage and a wiping lip, with a plurality of legs extending from the annular base towards the sleeve, the legs being separated by secondary passages, which are located radially outside the sleeve and radially inside the tubular portion of the base, with an upper wiping lip having a free edge arranged in a plane located in the vicinity of the upper plane of the collar of the base.
Pipette tip system
A pipette tip system for use with a plurality of pipette tips is disclosed that includes a support card and a support card lid. The support card includes an array of pipette tip receiver openings arranged in a N×M array, wherein the N is less than M. The support card further has a short-side card rail edge on an edge of the support card along the N side of the array, and a long-side card rail edge on an edge of the support card along the M side of the array. The support card lid includes a long-side lid rail edge extending from a support card first surface, which is adapted to slidably mate with the long-side card rail edge, and a short-side lid rail edge extending from a support card second surface, which is adapted to slidably mate with the short-side card rail edge.
Pipette tip and uses and methods thereof
The present invention provides a pipette tip, which can be used in in-vitro diagnostics, in particular in the diagnostic testing of body fluids, such as in coagulation testing. The Pipette tip contains two constituents in a spatially separated manner. The present invention furthermore provides a method of performing such diagnostics, e.g. coagulation analysis, and to the use of the pipette tip in such diagnostic testing.
