Module with collapsible fluid chamber and onboard fluid chamber compression element
A module for processing fluids includes one or more collapsible fluid chambers supported on a substrate, a compression element supported on the substrate and configured to be movable with respect to the one or more chambers, and an actuating element coupled to the compression element and configured to effect movement of the compression element relative to the one or more fluid chambers to collapse each fluid chamber by compressing the fluid chamber between the compression element and the substrate as the compression element moves over the fluid chamber. A method for motivating a fluid out of a fluid chamber comprises the steps of providing a module that includes one or more collapsible fluid chambers supported on a substrate, a compression element supported on the substrate and configured to be movable with respect to the one or more chambers, and an actuating element coupled to the compression element and configured to effect movement of the compression element relative to the one or more fluid chambers and moving the actuator element to move the compression element across at least a portion of t substrate and compress the fluid chamber, thereby motivating the fluid out of the fluid chamber.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MULTI-TARGET DEPOSITION AND ASSAYS
Disclosed herein is are methods and apparatuses for synthesizing deposited films of compounds (e.g., organic compounds such as a pharmaceutical active ingredient or a new chemical entity) on or in a variety of substrates, where such deposited compounds the desired stability under storage conditions, ease of handling, and yet enhanced dissolution properties when used in various assays. The disclosure further relates to methods of coating substrates, such as medical or diagnostic devices, with deposited films of organic compounds, as well as film-coated substrates.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR DETECTING GENETIC MATERIAL
This invention provides compositions and methods for detecting differences in copy number of a target polynucleotide. In some cases, the methods and compositions provided herein are useful for diagnosis of fetal genetic abnormalities, when the starting sample is maternal tissue (e.g., blood, plasma). The methods and materials described apply techniques for allowing detection of small, but statistically significant, differences in polynucleotide copy number.
METHOD FOR PERFORMING A MAGNETIC SEPARATION PROCEDURE
A method for performing a magnetic separation procedure that includes transporting a receptacle containing a fluid medium to a first location of a system, where the fluid medium contains both a sample material and a suspension of magnetically-responsive solid supports. At the first location, the fluid medium is exposed to a first magnetic field for a first dwell period, thereby isolating the solid supports within the receptacle, where no portion of the fluid medium is removed from the receptacle at the first location. The receptacle is then transported from the first location to a second location of the system, where the fluid medium is exposed to a second magnetic field for a second dwell period. Following the second dwell period, at least a portion of the fluid medium is removed from the receptacle. A suspension fluid is then dispensed into the receptacle, and the contents of the receptacle are agitated to suspend the solid supports within the suspension fluid.
LIQUID HANDLING DEVICE AND LIQUID HANDLING SYSTEM
A liquid handling device includes: a cartridge including a first reservoir part in which a first reagent that is preservable in a non-frozen state is stored; and a channel chip including a second reservoir part in which a second reagent that should be preserved in a frozen state is stored, and a channel connected to the second reservoir part. The cartridge is attachable and detachable to and from the channel chip. The first reservoir part is connected to the channel when the cartridge is mounted in the channel chip.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR DELIVERING COMPACT LYOPHILIZED AGENTS FOR DISSOLVING IN A CLOSED SYSTEM
The invention relates to packaged lyophilized agents. In particular, the present invention relates to compact lyophilized agents that are packaged in flexible containers, and systems for their manufacture and use.
LABORATORY SYSTEM PARTICULARLY FOR USE IN MICROSCOPY
A laboratory system includes: a laboratory device on a table surface of a laboratory bench, the laboratory bench having at least one receiving section below the table surface, which at least one receiving section receives at least one fluid reservoir which is connected to the laboratory device. In an embodiment, the laboratory device includes a climate chamber and/or an incubation system, and the laboratory system further includes a first fluid supply system that supplies at least one fluid to the climate chamber and/or the incubation system, the first fluid supply system being connected to the at least one fluid reservoir in which the at least one fluid is storable.
BURSTABLE LIQUID STORAGE PACKAGE FOR BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS AND VALVE SUBSTITUTION
The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method of fabricating a sealed storage system for environmentally sensitive aqueous materials with liquid flow control and on-demand distribution. The present invention features a sealed storage apparatus capable of compactly containing a liquid reagent with liquid control capabilities. The apparatus may comprise a liquid-impermeable, air-impermeable, resistant to force-induced tearing pouch body capable of being penetrated through the application of a laser. The apparatus may further comprise a pouch cavity disposed within the pouch body for holding the liquid reagent. The apparatus may further comprise a liquid-impermeable, air-impermeable, and resistant to force-induced tearing sealing adhesive disposed over the pouch cavity to seal the liquid reagent within the pouch body capable of being penetrated through the application of the laser. Thus, the apparatus may allow liquid to flow from any point on the said apparatus by simply directing the laser to the point.
Reagent bottle cleaning device
A reagent bottle cleaning device is provided, comprising a base, a cleaning assembly, and a cleaning block. The cleaning assembly comprises a pushing cylinder and a mounting plate. A plurality of mounting grooves are disposed on the mounting plate. Each mounting groove is provided with a cleaning motor. The cleaning motor is provided with a cleaning screw rod. The cleaning block is provided with cleaning grooves corresponding to the cleaning screw rods. Injecting pumps are disposed between the cleaning block and the cleaning assembly. The injecting pumps are connected to the base by lifting cylinders. Full-automatic quick cleaning of reagent bottles can be realized under the effect of a main control chip.
Reagent vessel for storing a liquid reagent
A reagent vessel, an apparatus and a method for manufacturing a lower part of a reagent vessel for an analytical instrument are disclosed. The reagent vessel is configured to store a liquid reagent. The reagent vessel comprises a cover and a lower part. The lower part comprises a bottom wall, a front wall, a rear wall, two opposing side walls and at least one connection wall. The cover, bottom wall, front wall, rear wall and two opposing side walls define at least one internal volume for storing at least one liquid reagent. The two opposing side walls are at least partially connected to one another by the at least one connection wall located within the at least one internal volume. The connection wall is spaced apart from the bottom wall. The connection wall and at least the two opposing side walls can be injection-molded and are monolithically formed.
