SLIDE AND MICROSCOPE SYSTEM USING THE SLIDE
A slide on which an observation object by a microscope is placed, is provided. A first mark indicating a reference line along a first direction and a second mark indicating a specific position on an extension of the reference line along the first direction are separately arranged in a vacant area between a label area used to arrange a label and a cover glass area used to arrange the observation object and a cover glass. A position reference is provided by the specific position on the extension of the reference line along the first direction.
Method and system for recovering products from an emulsion
The present invention relates to a method for selecting and recovering products, comprising the following steps: providing an emulsion (6) comprising a plurality of drops (4) contained in a carrier fluid (10), each drop comprising an internal fluid (8), measuring at least one physical parameter for several drops (4) of the emulsion (6), classifying at least some of the drops (4) of the emulsion in a class based on measurements obtained during the measuring step, tagging at least some of the classified drops (4) based on the class of the drop (4), selectively recovering the drop (4) or part of the drop (4) using the tag of the drop or part of the drop (4).
SPECIMEN HOLDER WITH WIRELESS TRANSPONDER FOR ATTACHMENT TO SPECIMEN COLLECTION BODY
A specimen holder includes a body, a sleeve, and a wireless transponder. The body has distal and proximal portions, the distal portion including a surface that carries a specimen upon engagement of the body with the specimen, and the proximal portion including a first pair of parallel surfaces. The sleeve has distal and proximal portions, a side wall, and an internal cavity at least partially enclosed by the side wall. The distal portion of the sleeve includes a second pair of parallel surfaces. The wireless transponder is sized to be positioned within the internal cavity of the sleeve. The sleeve is attachable to the body by capturing one of the first and second pairs of parallel surfaces between the other of the first and second pairs of parallel surfaces.
Assay information management methods and devices
The present invention relates to methods, devices and systems for associating assay information with an assay consumable used in a biological assay. Provided are assay systems and associated consumables, wherein the assay system includes a reader adapted to read/erase/write information from/to an assay consumable identifier associated with the assay consumable. Various types of assay information are described, as well as methods of using such information in the conduct of an assay by an assay system.
Pipetting device comprising a fluid volume sensor and fluid processing system
The invention relates to a pipetting device having tube with an opening at one end for suctioning or discharging a sample fluid, and can be operatively connected to a pressure generation device at the other end. A first electrode is formed on the pipetting device that forms a measuring capacitor together with a second electrode formed by at least one part of the sample fluid and that can be received in the tube and the measuring capacitor is operatively connected to a measuring unit, and the measuring unit is designed to determine a volume of the suctioned or discharged sample fluid according to the capacity of the measuring capacitor. The invention also relates to a fluid processing system having a pipetting device of this type, as well as a method for determining a processed fluid volume during pipetting with a pipetting device of this type.
Receptacle holders, systems, and methods for capacitive fluid level detection
A receptacle holder for supporting at least one fluid-containing receptacle includes a body and an RFID transponder. The body includes an electrically conductive portion defining a first recess configured to receive at least a first fluid-containing receptacle, and an electrically non-conductive portion attached to the electrically conductive portion. The RFID transponder is disposed on the electrically non-conductive portion of the body, and stores information about the receptacle holder. The receptacle holder can also include the first fluid-containing receptacle received within the first recess.
Kit Including Planar Sample Carrier with Absorbent Membrane Layer and Box
A kit or set including a planar sample carrier having an absorbent membrane layer suitable for absorbing liquid blood components is provided, and wherein at least a portion of the blood components is able to dry in the membrane layer, wherein the sample carrier is additionally provided on an outer side with an optically readable code, additionally including a closable cuboidal box having a bottom surface that has a rectangular base surface and that additionally has a first opening, additionally including a planar receiving element having a base surface that corresponds to the base surface of the bottom surface, wherein the receiving element has a second opening and a holder that together are designed such that, on mounting the sample carrier in the holder and subsequently inserting the receiving element into the box on the bottom surface of the box, the optical code is visible through the first opening in the bottom surface and also through the second opening in the receiving element.
Pipetting device, fluid processing system and method for operating a fluid processing system
A pipetting device having a lube has an opening al one end for suctioning or discharging a sample fluid and can be operatively connected to a pressure generation device at the other end, a first electrode is formed on the pipetting device and forms a measuring capacitor together with a second electrode formed by at least one part of the sample fluid that can be received in the tube and that measuring capacitor is operatively connected to a measuring unit, and the measuring unit is designed to determine a volume of the suctioned or discharged sample fluid according to the capacity of the measuring capacitor, as well as having a first electrical contact that is designed to create an electrical connection with the working fluid, the first electrical contact can be electrically connected to the measuring unit via a low-resistance converter circuit.
Retention clip and sample rack for a sample analysis system
An embodiment is a sample rack system. The sample rack system comprises a rack having a base, a top opposite the base along a vertical direction, a receptacle that extends from the top toward the base along the vertical direction, and a receiver element proximate the top. The receptacle is sized to receive a sample collection unit. The system also includes a retention clip for holding the sample collection unit in the receptacle. The retention clip includes an engagement head for attachment to the receiver element of the rack. The engagement head defines an outer surface. The retention clip also includes a curved tail that extends from the engagement head and contacts the sample collection unit when the sample collection unit is placed in the receptacle. The outer surface of the retention clip does not project outwardly from the rack when the retention clip is attached to the rack.
