SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAGNETIC SUSPENSION OF LABORATORY OBJECTS

Disclosed is a system and method for aiding the sterility of a laboratory by suspending items using magnetic force to a laboratory object, such as a cap or a lid, wherein such cap may be suspended on a rack or stand comprising an arm extending horizontally. The system allows for suspension of items rather than placing them on surfaces, which may lead to contamination. The system may further prevent mixing of lids by increasing organizational capability by magnetic suspension of the caps or lids. The disclosed system supports a wide variety of scenarios for laboratory settings and related products and services.

Tip Collar with Integrated Filters
20170282174 · 2017-10-05 ·

A disposable filter tip collar provides an improved system for using filters in conjunction with disposable pipette tips. The filters are installed into the tip-holding collar rather than inside each tip as in current use. The separation of the filters from the tips in this manner offers significant advantages for ease of use, cost, and pipetting performance. Because the filters are separate from the tips, the available liquid pipetting volume within the tips is not diminished as it is using the current system, which allows for more consistent pipetting and method development between filter and non-filter tips. Since the filters are not limited in size by the internal diameter of the pipette tips, larger diameter filters can be used which are more efficient and allow better pipetting performance.

Chemical reactor apparatus

Support apparatus for a chemical reactor vessel comprises a mounting system comprising a collar device (221) arranged for closure around the chemical reactor vessel, and a mounting unit (200) having a member (212) with a hollow, semi-cylindrical receiving portion arranged to receive and support the chemical reactor vessel when fitted with the collar device. The collar device has three radially outwardly extending lugs (223A, 223B, 223C). An upper surface of the member (212) is provided with recesses for receiving and supporting lugs 223A and 223C. A slot in the hollow, semi-cylindrical receiving portion is arranged to receive and support the lug (223B). A chemical reactor vessel fitted with the collar device may be mounted on the apparatus without the need for manual handling of the apparatus, allowing two hands to be used for lifting and mounting the vessel. The lugs (223A, 223B, 223C), recesses and slot cooperate to prevent rotation of the vessel when mounted on the apparatus.

Adjustable test tube holder

A test tube holder is configurable to support a combination of a first test tube type and a second test tube type. The test tube holder has a base and a plurality of independently adjustable support members, each coupled to and rotatable with respect to the base between a first position, where the support member is configured to support the first test tube type, and a second position, where the first support member is configured to support the second test tube type.

Self-centering vial clamp

A self-centering vial clamp is provided. The self-centering vial clamp includes a clamp body including a vial aperture and two or more jaw slots spaced around the vial aperture, two or more clamp jaws spaced around the vial aperture, with a clamp jaw including a vial contact face and one or more jaw projections configured to engage a jaw slot of the clamp body, and two or more lever arms coupled to the two or more clamp jaws. A lever arm of the self-centering vial claim is configured to be manually pivoted, wherein the lever arm translates the pivoting motion into a sliding motion of the corresponding clamp jaw. Interacting lever gears formed on the lever arms constrain the two or more clamp jaws to move substantially in unison during the manual pivoting, aligning the vial.

IMMUNOBLOTTING TEST BOARD REACTION DEVICE
