DEVICE AND METHOD FOR STERILIZING AND STORAGE OF LABORATORY CONSUMABLES
A sterilizing storage device may include a housing defining an interior chamber and having an opening defined in the housing to enable access to the interior chamber, the interior chamber divided into a plurality of storage compartments, each storage compartment of the plurality of storage compartments configured to slidably receive a carrier holding a plurality of laboratory consumables. A door may be affixed to the housing and selectively movable between a closed and opened position. A plurality of ultraviolet (UV) lamps may be positioned such that each storage compartment of the plurality of storage compartments receives UV light from a UV lamp of the plurality of UV lamps. At least one fan may draw air into the housing. A plurality of carriers configured to hold the plurality of laboratory consumables suspended from an upper surface of the carrier such that a distal end of each laboratory consumable hangs down into an open interior portion of the carrier. Each carrier having at least one side surface opening and at least one bottom surface opening to enable air flow and UV light to reach the distal end of each laboratory consumable.
Centrifuge including a magnetic element and method for centrifuging a reaction vessel unit and using a magnetic element
A centrifuge for washing magnetic beads in a reaction vessel unit that includes at least one opening, having a housing including an inner surface and a drain, a rotor disposed within the housing, the rotor being configured to hold a reaction vessel unit with its opening(s) directed outwardly toward the inner surface of the housing, a motor coupled with the rotor to rotate around a horizontal rotation axis, and a magnetic element arranged in the rotor to apply a magnetic field to one or more reaction vessels of a reaction vessel unit held by the rotor.
3D cell washer
An autoclaving microplate washing system for cells and non-adhering three-dimensional (3D) cell cultures includes one or more peristaltic pumps for controlling the dispensing of washing fluid and the evacuation of fluid from microwells to gently wash the cells.
Device and method for sterilizing and storage of laboratory consumables
A sterilizing and storage device comprises a housing, a door, and a plurality of ultraviolet (UV) lamps. The housing defines an interior chamber and has an opening defined in the housing to enable access to the interior chamber. The interior chamber is divided into a plurality of storage compartments. Each storage compartment is adapted to slidably receive a carrier holding a plurality of laboratory consumables. The door is affixed to the housing and selectively movable between a closed position closing off the opening and an open position enabling access to the interior chamber. The plurality of ultraviolet (UV) lamps is positioned such that each storage compartment receives UV light from a UV lamp positioned above the storage compartment and from a UV lamp positioned below the storage compartment.
AUTOMATIC ANALYZER AND METHOD FOR CARRYING OUT CHEMICAL, BIOCHEMICAL, AND/OR IMMUNOCHEMICAL ANALYSES
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a method and/or a device for carrying out chemical, biochemical and/or immunochemical analyses of liquid samples, which are present in a sample store of an automatic analyzer, with the aid of liquid reagents which are present in at least one reagent store of the analyzer. In one example embodiment, the automatic analyzer includes cuvettes, a first pipettor, a device with an optical measurement unit, a device for heterogenous immunoassays, a cuvette washing unit, a needle washing unit, a temperature control unit.
Apparatus and method for cleaning containers
The invention relates to an apparatus and to a method for cleaning vessels. The vessel cleaning apparatus (10) has a suction lance (20) and a flushing lance (40). The flushing lance (40) is configured to receive fluid, such as cleaning liquid and/or compressed air, and to expel it against an inner wall of a vessel to be cleaned. The suction lance (20) is configured to suck off and lead off fluids present in the vessel as well as cleaning liquid supplied through the flushing lance (40) from the vessel, preferably against the direction of effect of gravity.
Calcium ion concentration measuring device
The present claimed invention provides a calcium ion concentration measuring device that can measure a concentration of a calcium ion in blood of a domestic animal with high accuracy without being affected by temperature on the spot where the blood is collected. The calcium ion concentration measuring device is a portable one for measuring the concentration of the calcium ion in the blood of the domestic animal, and comprises a responsive membrane that selectively reacts with the calcium ion, an internal liquid stored in a space separated from the outside by the responsive membrane, and an internal electrode arranged to be in contact with the internal liquid, and the isothermal intersection point of the internal liquid is set within a range of the concentration of the calcium ion contained in the blood of the domestic animal.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BIO-INACTIVATION
A system for irradiating a microplate may include a modular light engine with one or more light emitting devices. The light emitting devices are configured to emit germicidal radiation to irradiate the microplate, which is configured to be positioned below the modular light engine inside a chamber of the microplate irradiation system. In this way, a uniform intensity of germicidal radiation may be output by light emitting devices, resulting in disruption of contaminating nucleic acids present in the microplate.
Automated Analyzer and Method of Controlling the Automated Analyzer
An automated analyzer including: a stirring part provided with a stirring bar; a cleaning part that cleans the stirring bar; and a control unit that controls the stirring part and the cleaning part, when the control unit causes the stirring part to stir a liquid containing a specimen in a second cycle subsequent to a first cycle, the control unit performing first processing that sets a range of the stirring bar to be cleaned in the second cycle as a cleaning range R2, and when the control unit does not cause the stirring part to stir the liquid in the second cycle, the control unit performing second processing that sets a range of the stirring bar to be cleaned in at least one of the first cycle and the second cycle as a cleaning range R4 that is wider than the cleaning range R2.
METHOD FOR ENSURING MICROBIOLOGICAL PURITY OF A SINGLE-USE DEVICE, AND COVER FOR A FLUID CONNECTION OF A SEPARATION UNIT FOR USE IN SUCH A METHOD
A method for ensuring a microbiological purity of a single-use device for carrying out a biotechnological process, the single-use device including at least one gamma-sterilizable component which is formed from materials suitable for a sterilization by gamma radiation, and at least one non-gamma-sterilizable subunit which contains a material unsuitable for a sterilization by gamma radiation. Both the component and the subunit each have an area that comes into contact with a process medium when the biotechnological process is carried out. The method includes the steps of sterilizing the gamma-sterilizable component by gamma radiation; protecting the medium-contacting area of the gamma-sterilizable component by a sterile barrier; sterilizing the non-gamma-sterilizable subunit with superheated steam; protecting the medium-contacting area of the non-gamma-sterilizable subunit by a sterile barrier; removing the sterile barriers; and mounting the gamma-sterilized component and the superheated steam-sterilized subunit in the single-use device immediately after removing the sterile barriers.
