A shield for protecting furniture against damage that a pet can cause, includes a body and a lock. The body is expandable from a collapsed configuration to an expanded configuration by moving in a first direction a first end relative to a second end. When the body is in the expanded configuration and positioned adjacent furniture, the body can cover a region of the furniture. The lock includes a first portion and a second portion, and is operable to maintain the body in the expanded configuration when the first and second portions engage each other. With the shield's body in the collapsed configuration, one can easily transport the shield to any location. With the shield's body in the expanded configuration, one can cover a region of furniture with the body and thus discourage a pet from sitting or lying on top of the shield. With the body in the expanded configuration, the shield may also be used as a barrier to protect a leg or other vertical portion of a piece of furniture.

The protector is generally elongate and includes a mouth that is able to open to accommodate the structure. The mouth is biased towards a closed position so that the mouth grips the structure to hold it in place. The mouth is provided by a pair of opposed jaws and an inner plate provided to act as a stop for the mouth. A bumper is provided that extends spaced from the inner plate. The protector further includes at least one angled linear web that extends between the inner plate and bumper at a front of the protector. Advantageously, it has been found that as the bumper crushes, the angled linear web and the side connection of the bumper combine to cause the bumper to spread outwardly and around the structure thereby acting to deflect the force of the impact around the structure. Such deflection reduces the damage to the structure.

A furniture part functional element for decoration or information display, such as for logos or the like, includes: a planar information section and a fastening section equipped with a fastener configured to fasten to the furniture part. The fastener of the fastening section comprises a sliding guide element, via which sliding on a guide section of the furniture part is enabled, and a clamping element, via which the slid-on functional element is held clamped to the guide section.

A furniture part functional element for decoration or information display, such as for logos or the like, includes: a planar information section and a fastening section equipped with a fastener configured to fasten to the furniture part. The back channel is mountable along a back wall of a closet. The first and second side brackets are mountable along sidewalls of the closet. The first end cup is configured to be coupled and/or supported generally between portions of the first shelf trim and the first side bracket. The second end cup is configured to be coupled and/or supported generally between portions of the second shelf trim and the second side bracket. The hang rod is supportable beneath the shelf when first and second end portions of the hang rod are supported by the respective first and second end cups.
