A crushing machine includes: a frame, a tank, a cone placed inside the tank, the machine further including a device for vibrating the tank with respect to the frame; the machine being characterized in that the device for vibrating the tank includes at least two vibrators which are mounted on the frame, each vibrator being rotated about a longitudinal axis of the frame by a motor, each motor driving the vibrator with which it is associated independently from one another.

A grinding apparatus includes a receptacle, a grinding element and a drive means. The receptacle has a receptacle inner wall defining a receptacle cavity. The receptacle inner wall is in the general form of a surface of a revolution extending about a central vertically extending receptacle axis. The receptacle is rotatable about the receptacle axis. The grinding element has a grinding element outer wall in the general form of a surface of revolution extending about a central vertically extending grinding element axis.

A method and apparatus for counteracting spin of the crusher head on cone or gyratory crushers is provided. An annular rubber muscle element is secured relative to said bowl frame and positioned between the bowl frame and a surface of the head, and which can be selectively placed into contact under pressure with the surface of the head to prevent spin during start up but which is then released during normal crushing operation.
