The at least one light source is positioned straight above the substrate. The item of equipment also includes at least one interface for communication with at least one element of the worktop and/or with at least one external element for wireless communication. Existing fabrication tables are often expensive, immobile, unsafe, and difficult to work with. This invention comprises a modular fabrication table, which is rapidly adaptable to expand over a large surface area, add perpendicular work surfaces, and integrate existing peripheral components that can be purchased at a store. This allows fabrication prototypers to have relatively inexpensive, mobile, sturdy, square, and level tables within which to configure structures for the production of fabrication work pieces.

A worktop (1) for pieces of furniture includes two slabs (3, 4) made of stone, arranged so that they are adjacent to each other at the level of corresponding head surfaces (5, 6) in order to define a work surface (2) exposed to the outside. A joining arrangement is suited to stably connect the slabs (3, 4) and includes a first bonding substance (8) interposed between the head surfaces (5, 6) and recesses (9) obtained on the head surfaces (5, 6) of each slab (3, 4), mutually facing each other and configured in such a way as to define corresponding housings completely delimited in the direction of the thickness of the slabs (3, 4), the first bonding substance (8) being spread mainly in the housings.

A storage system is provided. The storage system includes an enclosure forming an open side exposing a face of a drawer, the drawer in translatable engagement with an interior of the enclosure. A translatable latch is provided for unlocking the first arm from the locked position. The latch translates through an aperture of the arm, the aperture being housed within the side of the enclosure for security when in the locked position.

A storage system is provided. The storage system includes an enclosure forming an open side exposing a face of a drawer, the drawer in translatable engagement with an interior of the enclosure. A first arm is secured to the enclosure and configured to pivot within the enclosure into a locked position and without the enclosure in an unlocked position. A translatable latch is provided for unlocking the first arm from the locked position. The latch translates through an aperture of the arm, the aperture being housed within the side of the enclosure for security when in the locked position.

An item of equipment includes at least one worktop formed of at least one substrate made of transparent monolithic glass material with a surface area of greater than 0.7 m.sup.2, provided with a coating so that the substrate provided with the coating exhibits a haze of greater than 15%, a light transmission T.sub.L of less than 60% and an opacity indicator of greater than 85. The item of equipment also includes at least one heating element and at least one interface for communication with at least one element of the worktop and/or with at least one external element for wireless communication. The item of equipment is devoid of light source(s).

A piece of furniture comprises at least one surface formed of at least one glass-ceramic monolithic substrate having a thickness of less than 15 mm, an expansion coefficient of less than 3010.sup.7 K.sup.1 between 20 C. and 400 C., and a surface area of greater than or equal to 0.1 m.sup.2.

An item of equipment includes at least one worktop formed of at least one substrate made of transparent monolithic glass material with a surface area of greater than 0.7 m.sup.2. The substrate exhibits a light transmission T.sub.L of greater than 10% and an opacity indicator of between 5 and 90. The substrate is predominantly or completely bare or provided with coating(s). The item of equipment also includes at least one light source to materialize one or more zones or one or more elements or displays of the substrate. The item of equipment also includes at least one interface for communication with at least one element of the worktop and/or with at least one external element for wireless communication. The item of equipment is being devoid of heating elements.
