METHOD AND AIR-SWEPT VERTICAL MILL FOR GRINDING HOT, WET RAW MATERIAL AND ALSO CHANNEL-LIKE SEGMENT
The invention relates to a method for milling hot and wet raw materials, in particular cement clinker, in a vertical airflow mill (1), to a vertical airflow mill (1), to a device (10) for supplying cooling gas, and to corresponding channel-like segments (20). The device (10) for supplying cooling gas is configured in an annular manner about the entire circumference of the vertical airflow mill (1). Inlet (21) and outlet openings (24) for the cooling gas have an adapted surface which allows an equalization of the inflow cooling air into an increasing airflow/milling particle mixture.
MOISTURE MANAGEMENT IN VERTICAL ROLLER MILLS
Disclosed are exemplary method and system for manufacturing cement in a vertical roller mill (VRM) using humidity sensor readings. This enables adjustment of operational variables such as material feed, water, grinding additives, air flow, temperature, and their combinations. Exemplary embodiments allow manufacturers to predict and to improve cement properties, such as strength and setting time, by monitoring and managing humidity of air in the VRM and/or its air flow system.
MILLING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING MATERIALS WITH A PARTICULAR PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION
Milling systems and methods for producing materials with a particular particle size distribution are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a system for providing materials having a particular particle size includes a mill configured to produce grinded materials, a classifier positioned to receive the grinded materials and including a first classifier outlet and a second classifier outlet, and a screen positioned to receive the grinded materials from the second classifier outlet and including a first screen outlet and a second screen outlet. The classifier can be configured to separate the grinded materials based on a first threshold particle size. The screen can be configured to separate the grinded materials based on a second threshold particle size greater than the first threshold particle size.
Enhanced retractable flow discharge extension
An enhanced retractable flow discharge extension is configured for use in a coal pulverizer having a classifier system including a feedpipe to deliver from above raw coal to a pulverizing structure and a classifier cone positioned around the feedpipe to collect oversized coal for the pulverizing structure. The enhanced retractable flow discharge extension is configured to deliver oversized coal to the pulverizing structure and has a conical extension portion having an inlet end configured to be contiguous with the classifier cone outlet, a fixed cylindrical portion having an upper end contiguous with an outlet end of the conical extension portion, a movable cylindrical portion having a circumference larger than a circumference of the fixed cylindrical portion, the movable cylindrical portion being movably attached to the fixed cylindrical portion, and a distal portion movably attached to the movable cylindrical portion, the distal portion having a straight portion and a tapered portion.
