Infectious waste treatment system
A method and apparatus for infectious waste treatment. First, the infectious waste may be shredded into a mixture of liquid and shredded solid waste, then the mixture may be poured into a plurality of perforated bags. The liquid waste drips from the perforated bags onto a preheating subsystem and the solid waste remains in the perforated bags. The preheating subsystem heats up the liquid waste to a pre-disinfection temperature. Finally, steam may be utilized to heat up the liquid waste and the solid waste to a disinfecting temperature.
Method and apparatus for preventing mold growth in the reservoir of a food waste recycling appliance
A method and apparatus for operating a food waste recycling appliance includes a food waste recycling container, a condensate reservoir, a first fluid pathway fluidly coupling the food waste recycling chamber and the condensate reservoir, and a fan moving air from the food waste recycling chamber to the condensate reservoir along the first fluid pathway to define a first airflow.
Apparatus and Method to Render Air Bag Inflators and Other Low Level Detonatable Devices Inert for Recycling
Detonable devices such as charged air bag inflators are fed to a shred tower at a controlled feed rate via a feed valve. Water spray and/or water baths in the shred tower prevent sparking and begin to solubilize chemicals while the inflators are fed to primary and optional secondary shredders respectively performing course and fine shreds. A sump receives the shredded material which continues to solubilize and separate chemicals from metal. A conveyor lifts solids from the sump. Dewatered solids are fed to a receiving box for metal scrap recycling.
SELF-CLEANING GARBAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM, AND METHOD OF OPERATION
A self-cleaning garbage disposal system is provided including a container having a neck portion leading to a container opening and a flow switch valve for connecting the container to a dishwasher drain hose. The flow switch valve is switchable to an open position to allow dishwasher water to be fed to the container from the dishwasher drain hose and to a closed position to not allow dishwasher water to be fed to the container from the dishwasher drain hose based on a rotational position. The garbage disposal system can include a garbage disposal cap to be rotationally inserted into the container opening, and the flow switch valve operation can respond to the rotational position of the garbage disposal cap. Sensors can be provided on the garbage disposal cap and the neck portion of the container to detect the rotational position of the garbage disposal cap.
APPARATUS FOR TREATING WASTE LEATHER
An apparatus for treating leather waste includes: a main body having an inlet and an outlet; a sorting unit rotatably installed in the main body and comprising a plurality of treatment parts having processing components to sort leather inserted into the main body through the inlet; and a power unit configured to rotate the sorting unit.
APPARATUS FOR ORGANIC WASTE TREATMENT
The present invention relates to an organic waste treatment apparatus consisting of a garbage receiving unit, a probing door, a garbage compactor unit, a crushing unit fixed to the upper part of the structure frame, a mixing unit positioned underneath the crushing unit, a motor that drives all movements of the apparatus using belt drive and gear drive, and a control panel controlling the functions of this device.
PROCESS FOR TREATING SOLID WASTE CONTAINING AN ORGANIC FRACTION
Process for treating solid waste containing an organic fraction, comprising an initial step of extrusion pressing the waste with production of a solid fraction and a liquor. The solid fraction is subjected to a milling treatment at a pressure lower than the atmospheric pressure in a rotary mill that produces a sanitized dry solid and water. The liquor is subjected to a treatment of anaerobic digestion in three subsequent steps, with production of biogas and of a digestate that is subjected to evaporation under vacuum to obtain a concentrated compost and steam, re-used in other steps of the process. The sanitized dry solid and the biogas can be used as fuel to produce thermal and electric energy to be used in the process, which also allows surplus energy to be obtained.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING RESTAURANT WASTE
Processes and systems for utilizing restaurant waste are provided. The restaurant waste may include food products, paper products, glass products, plastic products, and combinations thereof. The process may include grinding the restaurant waste to produce ground restaurant waste, having a maximum particle size of about 0.075 mm; forming a slurry comprising the ground restaurant waste and water; and maintaining the slurry at a pH greater than about 7 in a storage container. The slurry and/or the ground restaurant waste may be sterilized and fed to one or more digestive organisms, including but not limited to worms, bacteria, fungi, molds, and combinations thereof.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SEPARATING MATERIALS USING STIRRING MOTION, STRATIFICATION, AND VERTICAL MOTION
A cyclonic separation and materials processing method and system is presented in which materials entry at one end and which is arranged so that the materials that enter will be given a tangential velocity component as they enter. Specific embodiments include a three-dimensional sorting system with the use of an outward centrifugal motion and up/down (or vertical) motion flow of water or other media, which can be thought of as a three-dimensional separation.
SINGLE-SHAFT SHREDDING DEVICE
The shredding device comprises a rectangular housing a rotating shaft which penetrates the lateral the walls of the rectangular housing, a driving unit which rotates said rotating shaft, a plurality of disk-shaped cutters which are detachably mounted on the rotating shaft, each of the disk-shaped cutter has a plurality of cutter U-shaped concaves and which have predetermined-depth at every predetermined interval, a plurality of disk-shaped spacers which are detachably mounted on said rotating shaft, mounted between neighboring two of said disk-shaped cutters and which have a diameter smaller than a diameter of said disk-shaped cutter, and scrapers each of which is mounted on each of longitudinal side walls of said rectangular housing, and is arranged with predetermined gap against circumferences of the disc cutters and circumference of said disk-shaped spacers; wherein each of the disk-shaped cutters has a cutter groove running along its circumference.
