SAFETY COVER
20220339637 · 2022-10-27 ·

A meat grinder safety cover attachment for a meat grinder grinding head that prevents an operator of the meat grinder from entering hand or fingers into the inlet throat of the grinder where a turning auger starts the grinding of meat. The grinder safety cover has two functional states: a normally closed state and an actuated open state. Moving from the normally closed state to the actuated open state is initiated by applying a linear force by depressing a slide plunger pin that engages the slide covers covering the grinder head inlet throat. The slide plunger pin and slide covers are configured to convert the linear motion of the slide plunger pin to rotational motion of the slide covers, opening the slide covers and uncovering the inlet throat of the grinder head. Removing the depression force on the slide plunger pin, the torsion spring attached to the slide covers and a return spring in the slide plunger pin then return the safety cover to its normally closed position.

Meat grinding method

A grinding machine for grinding foodstuffs, such as meat or the like, includes an orifice plate at the outlet of a grinding head. The orifice plate has collection passages that discharge a mixture of soft material and hard material through the orifice plate. A separator assembly is positioned downstream of the orifice plate for separating the soft material from the hard material. The separator assembly includes a separator chamber that receives the mixture of soft material and hard material, in combination with a rotatable separator screw positioned within the separator chamber. Rotation of the separator screw functions to separate the soft material from the hard material. Soft material is discharged through perforations in the separator chamber and hard material is discharged through a discharge of the separator chamber.

Cutting set system for a meat mincing machine
20230133707 · 2023-05-04 ·

The invention relates to a reliable cutting set system for a meat mincing machine. The mutually matched coding (14, 24) between knife pins (10) and the cutting set element (20) prevents an incorrect installation of the cutting set element (20) after a cleaning process or during the initial assembly, thereby increasing the operational safety. The invention allows a detection of the correct cutting set element (20) of a cutting set system and thus an unambiguous allocation of the cutting set element to a knife pin (10) of a cutting set system.

GRINDER WITH ENHANCED COOLING
20170341083 · 2017-11-30 ·

A meat grinder includes a motor including a stator and a rotor including a motor shaft, a transfer case operatively coupled to the motor shaft, and a grinder head operatively coupled to the transfer case. The grinder head includes an inlet into which a raw meat product can be fed and an outlet through which ground meat can be discharged. Rotation of the motor shaft imparts operation of the grinder head via the transfer case. The motor also includes a housing comprising a generally cylindrical outer wall that is spaced from the stator thereby creating a cooling channel between the stator and the outer wall. The housing further includes a front wall including a plurality of inlet openings and a rear wall including a plurality of outlet openings. The motor also includes a heat sink inside the housing positioned in the cooling channel adjacent the motor stator. The motor further includes a cooling fan coupled to the motor shaft and positioned adjacent the rear wall. During operation of the meat grinder, the motor rotates the cooling fan which discharges air from the housing through the outlet openings, which draws air into the housing through the inlet openings, creating air flow through the cooling channel, the air flow through the channel drawing heat from the heat sink prior to being discharged through the outlet openings.

A mincing drum for a cutting and separating device, at the first end section of which there is an inlet opening and at the second end section of which there is an outlet opening, a plurality of cutting openings being arranged in a pressure housing section of the mincing drum and passing continuously through the pressure housing section from an inner wall to an outer wall, each cutting opening having, on the inner wall, a cutting opening edge facing the outlet opening and a drawing-in opening edge facing the inlet opening. The cutting performance of the cutting and separating device and the quality of the desired food component is significantly improved as a feed channel which is recessed relative to the inner wall is situated between the cutting opening edge and the drawing-in opening edge.
