Method and device for producing feedstock in piece form from metal
The disclosure relates to a method for producing feedstock in piece form from metal, in particular aluminium and/or aluminium alloys, for a metal-casting installation, in particular aluminium-casting installation, in which scrap parts of metal, in particular of aluminium and/or aluminium alloys, are sorted on the basis of their alloying constituents and/or alloy contents and subsequently, on the basis of an alloy to be produced in the feedstock, the scrap parts are mixed into a composition having a homogeneous distribution of the alloy and fed to a press, in which the scrap parts of the composition are subjected to a pressure that compresses the scrap parts while generating a temperature, wherein, as a result of the application of pressure, the scrap parts are heated up to the transition temperature between solid and liquid of at least some of the scrap parts and/or the alloys and/or alloying constituents thereof before the feedstock is discharged in a specific geometrical form.
DEMETALLIZED SLAG FOR ABRASIVES AND/OR ROOFING GRANULES AND RELATED METHODS
Some methods for making a granular material comprise crushing demetallized slag particles with one or more crushers and screening the crushed demetallized slag particles with one or more screens to separate the demetallized slag particles into two or more fractions, the granular material comprising at least one of the fractions of the demetallized slag particles. Prior to the crushing, ones of the demetallized slag particles having a size that is less than or equal to 2 inches can account for at least 90% of the demetallized slag particles. An iron-compound content of the demetallized slag particles, by weight, can be less than or equal to 10%. Crushing and screening can be performed such that ones of the demetallized slag particles of the granular material having a size that is less than or equal to 1.25 mm account for at least 90% of the demetallized slag particles of the granular material.

DEVICE, METHOD, AND CONTROL SYSTEM FOR WASTE TO ENERGY GENERATION AND OTHER OUTPUT PRODUCTS
Aspects of the present disclosure include devices, systems, methods, and control systems for processing a feedstock into an output product having variable preselected characteristics. Various system components may include: 1) a feeder configured to convey the feedstock; 2) a mechanical pulverizer configured to pulverize the feedstock received by the feeder into pulverized feedstock; and 3) an air conveyor for conveying an air flow into the mechanical pulverizer and to draw the air flow from the mechanical pulverizer to a fines separator. The pulverized feedstock includes one or more of heavy fines, particulates, moisture, or combinations thereof. The air flow from the mechanical pulverizer includes at least a portion of the pulverized feedstock, wherein the portion of the pulverized feedstock is conveyed by the air flow.
Powder for layerwise manufacturing of objects
The invention describes powders for use in the production of spatial structures, i.e. molded bodies, using layer build-up methods, as well as methods for their efficient production. The powders have the special feature that they have good flow behavior, for one thing, and at the same time, have such a composition that the molded body that can be produced with the powder, using rapid prototyping, has significantly improved mechanical and/or thermal properties. According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the powder has a first component that is present in the form of essentially spherical powder particles, which is formed by a matrix material, and at least one further component in the form of stiffening and/or reinforcing fibers, which are preferably embedded in the matrix material.
