In one example, a system includes a furniture mounting bracket configured to be secured to a piece of furniture; a wall anchor plate configured to be secured to a wall adjacent to a back surface of the piece of furniture and below the top of the piece of furniture; and a securing device attached to the wall anchor plate, the securing device configured to detachably attach to the furniture mounting bracket via a quick release. In another example, a method includes securing a wall anchor plate to a wall using mounting wires; attaching a furniture mounting bracket to a piece of furniture; positioning the piece of furniture adjacent to the wall anchor plate; and tensioning a securing device attached between the wall anchor plate and the furniture mounting bracket thereby preventing the furniture from tipping over.

A side rail extends upward from a lateral edge of the first portion. The first portion is attached to a bottom surface of the furniture by a screw or bolt which fits through a respective aperture in the first portion or by adhesive on an upper surface of the first planar portion in a position to contact a bottom surface of the furniture. The second portion is attached to a rear surface of the furniture by a screw or bolt which fits through a respective aperture in the second portion or by adhesive on an inner surface of the second planar portion in a position to contact the rear surface of the furniture.

A piece of furniture and an anti-tipping mechanism include a frame having a front and a rear, at least one drawer slidable through the front of the frame into and partly out of the frame, and one or more L-shaped boots each having a first elongate planar portion and a second planar portion shorter than the first planar portion with the second planar portion having a position at an angle to the first planar portion. The second planar portion is attached to a rear surface of the frame to be alongside and in contact therewith. The first planar portion is situated below the front and rear of the frame and extends forward of the front of the frame when the second planar portion is attached to the rear surface of the frame to aid in preventing tipping of the piece of furniture.

One or both of the bases include a pivotable attachment element that attaches the connector to the base. The system may include limited parts, a low profile, and have a straightforward assembly. The base may limit the total pivot sweep angle of the attachment element.
