Separation process with separation media loss reduction
The invention is directed to a process for separating particles using a wet density-based separation device, wherein at least part of said particles are coated prior to being fed to said density-based separation device. In accordance with the invention separation medium that is employed in density-based separation processes can be saved.
COAL BENEFICIATION
The present invention relates to methods for beneficiating a banded coal of the type wherein a substantial portion of the ash constituents is within the cleats. The method includes subjecting a comminuted coal feed, including coal and ash and having a particle size of about −13.5 mm, to a density separation process to separate the comminuted coal feed, using a separating gravity value of from about 1.35 up to about 1.9, into a beneficiated coal fraction and an ash containing gangue fraction. The method may include the initial steps of subjecting a coarse coal having a size of up to −150 mm to a density separation process to separate the coarse coal into an initial light coal-containing fraction and an initial heavy ash containing gangue fraction; and subjecting at least a portion of the initial light coal-containing fraction to a comminution process to form the comminuted coal feed. The invention extends to a coal product produced by said methods.
System for melting aluminum and recycling black dross
The present invention relates to a system for melting aluminum and recycling black dross, including an aluminum melting furnace responsible for melting aluminum scraps in molten aluminum and a black dross recycling device responsible for recycling black dross generated when the aluminum scraps are melted in the molten aluminum. The aluminum melting furnace includes a heating chamber provided with heating units responsible for heating the molten aluminum; and a melting chamber provided with an eddy unit responsible for generating an eddy descending in a spiral in the molten aluminum, a flux supply unit responsible for adding a flux to the eddy, and a raw material supply unit responsible for adding the aluminum scraps to the eddy, wherein, in the eddy unit, black dross formed when inclusions contained in the molten aluminum are captured by the flux is repeatedly descended and floated in the molten aluminum through the eddy, so that the black dross is collected into a spherical shape to form spherical black dross, and the black dross recycling device is responsible for recycling the spherical black dross.

Classifying apparatus
An apparatus for classifying fine particles in slurry provides a sharp particle size distribution with few mixed coarse particles and high classification accuracy. The apparatus includes a rotor (15) including classification chambers (17) between blades (16) radially arranged at circumferentially regular intervals, and classifies particles so that a classified particle size is constant in an entire radial region from an outer periphery to an inner periphery of the classification chamber. The blade (16) of the rotor has a circumferential thickness t(d) increasing toward the outer periphery, and the classification chamber (17) has a width increasing toward the inner periphery.
