Device and method for separating weakly magnetic particles
A device for separating weakly magnetic first particles, for example hematite particles, from mixture (912) comprising the first particles (913) and less magnetic second particles (914) is presented. The device comprises first magnetizing equipment (901) for producing magnetic field and for moving the mixture so that mutually opposite polarity portions (N, S) of the magnetic field sweep the mixture in a sweeping direction and thereby deflect the direction of movement of the first particles towards the sweeping direction and away from the direction of movement of the second particles. The device comprises also a supply equipment (932) for supplying the mixture to the carrier equipment with the aid of gravitation and a second magnetizing equipment (931) connected to a feed box (920) for producing second magnetic field for deflecting a direction of movement of the first particles differently than a direction of movement of the second particles when the mixture is moved by the gravitation towards the carrier equipment so as to generate, to the mixture arriving at the carrier equipment, a concentration gradient of the first particles. The pre-concentration of the first particles simplifies their separation form the mixture.

MICROFLUIDIC DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE
The current invention relates to the device and method to separate biological entities from a sample fluid by a microfluidic device. The claimed methods separate biological entities by differentiating the sizes of the biological entities with ultrasound modes. The claimed methods further utilize a multi-staged design that removes smaller size entities at earlier and wider sections and concentrates larger entities at later and narrower sections of a microfluidic channel.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO SEPARATE BIOLOGICAL ENTITIES
The current invention relates to the method and apparatus to separate biological entities from a fluid sample. The claimed methods separate biological entities based on size of entities by using acoustic pressure nodes in a microfluidic device. The claimed methods further separate biological entities with magnetic labels and by using a magnetic device. The claimed methods further include combination of microfluidic devices and magnetic devices to separate biological entities from a fluid sample.
MAGNETIC BIOLOGICAL ENTITY SEPARATION DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE
The current invention relates to the method and apparatus to magnetically separate biological entities with magnetic labels from a fluid sample. The claimed methods separate biological entities with magnetic labels by using a magnetic device. The claimed methods further include processes to dissociate biological entities magnetic conglomerate after magnetic separation.
METHOD TO DETECT PRE-SYMPTOM EARLY CANCER WITH ENHANCED ACCURACY
The current invention relates to the method to detect early stage pre-symptom cancer with enhanced accuracy. The claimed methods use anti-tumor agent to cause lysis of any existing cancer cells in a person, and causing release of genetic material from the lysed cancer cells into the blood stream of the person. The claimed methods further utilize a PCR method to amplify cancer gene in released generic material from a blood plasma sample of the person. The claimed methods further perform genetic sequencing on the blood plasma sample after PCR to identify existence of the cancer genes, thereby confirming existence of cancer.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MAGNETIC SEPARATION
The invention relates to an apparatus for removing magnetizable particles in a substance, the apparatus comprising a magnetic separation chamber for filtering magnetizable particles and flocs from the substance, wherein the magnetic separation chamber comprises a first housing that defines a first space through which the substance can flow, as well as at least one first magnet of which a first magnetic field reaches into the first space, and which first magnet is located within a first holder that has an interface with the first space; and a flocculation chamber for inducing flocculation of the particles in a substance, the flocculation chamber being in fluid connection with the magnetic separation chamber; wherein the magnetic separation chamber is located downstream of the flocculation chamber, and wherein the flocculation of the magnetizable particles results in magnetizable flocs, and the magnetic field of the first magnet causes the magnetizable flocs to be attracted towards the first magnet, thereby removing the flocs of magnetizable particles from the substance.
