IONIZERS HAVING CARBON NANOTUBE ION EMITTING HEADS
Ionizers having carbon nanotube (CNT) ion emitting heads of the present invention include ionization circuitry supplying voltage at ionization potential and carbon nanotube (CNT) ion emitters operatively connected thereto. The carbon nanotube (CNT) ion emitters are mechanically and electrically stable, provide good ion flows for air purification and/or air invigoration when actuated at ionization potential and are capable of prolonged use in highly polluted environments.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT THAT EMPLOYS AN ELECTRIC FIELD FOR INACTIVATING MICROORGANISMS
A macro electrically active mask includes two conductive layers separated by at least one filtering and insulating layer. The conductive layers are connected to each other by a power source. The power source includes an oscillator and a high voltage transformer. The power source generates a periodic voltage with a fundamental frequency and multiple harmonic frequencies. The power source is connected between the two conductive layers and the periodic voltage generates a periodic electric field between the two conductive layers. The fundamental frequency, the duty cycle, and the amplitude of the periodic voltage are configured to inactivate the microorganism that pass through the electric field.

RESPIRATOR DEVICES WITH SOURCE CONTROL MECHANISMS AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present technology relates to respirator devices including source control features. In some embodiments, a source control mask device can include a shield that substantially covers the mouth and nose of a user and a mechanism that can actively extract air as it is exhaled by the user. The extracted exhaled air can then be sanitized before the mask device discharges it into the atmosphere. The mask device may selectively form a seal to the user's face dependent on air flow conditions.
ACTIVE FACE SHIELD AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present disclosure provides a face shield that includes a frame supported by a head of the wearer and a transparent visor removably coupled to the frame. When coupled to the frame, the visor extends around the face of the wearer such that the visor covers at least one of a mouth, a nose, and eyes of the wearer. The face shield further includes an ion generator coupled to the frame. The ion generator generates and emits negatively-charged ions in a region of ambient air surrounding the mouth or the nose of the wearer such that negatively-charged ions charge particulate matter suspended in the region of ambient air. The face shield includes a positively- or negatively charged or grounded trap that collects or deflects the negatively-charged ions and the particulate matter charged by the negatively-charged ions.
