A furniture item comprises first and second edge modules, each edge module having a substantially horizontal component with a receiving section and a substantially vertical component with a receiving section. The first and second edge modules are spaced and arranged with respect to each other so that the respective receiving section of the horizontal components face each other. A top surface is provided and has first and second ends. The first end is supported by the receiving section of the horizontal component of one first edge module and the second end is supported by the receiving section of the horizontal component of the second edge module. Further, there is a first leg having an upper section accommodated by the receiving section of the vertical component of the first edge module and a second leg having an upper section accommodated by the receiving section of the vertical component of the second edge module.

A variable height platform system comprises a frame assembly, at least two leg assemblies, a drive mechanism, and a sensor. The frame assembly is configured to support and be removably connected to a tabletop. The drive mechanism is configured to either extend or retract each leg assembly in a direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis to set a height of the frame assembly in an elevated position for use. The sensor is configured to sense position and movement of a user in a predetermined area including an area of the variable height platform system and an area proximate the variable height platform system. The controller is operatively connected to the sensor and drive mechanism. The controller is configured to operate the drive mechanism in response to the sensor sensing the position and movement of the user in the predetermined area.

Disclosed is a unique support apparatus defining an internal, hidden structure which is precession engineered and manufactured in such a way using interlocking wood material joined with fastening mechanisms to form a support apparatus that when secured to a wall forms an incredibly strong unit that is functional and aesthetically attractive. The apparatus is universal as any surface may be associated with the support structure (e.g. wall) with the apparatus configured for being associated with any one of a plurality of items such as sleeves and cabinets so that the support apparatus cannot be seen once installed making such items appear to be floating with no visible support.

A height adjustable work surface is described that may be utilized as a standalone desk or table, or integrated with a larger work surface to provide selective height adjustability to only a portion of a work surface. The height adjustable work surface preferably utilizes a modular trapezoidal frame structure, including trapezoid tube weldments, corner castings and machined hardened connector pins. The lift mechanism preferably includes parallelogram linkages, pneumatic gas cylinders, sliding brake bar mechanism and brake release handles to provide height adjustment functionality.

A blow-molded plastic structure, such as a tabletop, may include an undercut. For example, the tabletop may include a frame receiving portion and a frame connecting structure with an undercut may be disposed in the frame receiving portion. A portion of the frame may contact or engage the frame connecting structure, such as the undercut, when the frame is connected to the tabletop. In an exemplary embodiment, a first side of the frame receiving portion may include a first frame connecting portion with an undercut and a second side of the frame receiving portion may include a second frame connecting portion with an undercut. The first frame connecting portion with an undercut may be disposed on an opposing surface from the second frame connecting portion with an undercut.

A blow-molded plastic structure, such as a table top, may include an undercut. For example, the table top may include a frame receiving portion and a frame connecting structure with an undercut may be disposed in the frame receiving portion. A first portion of the frame may contact or engage the frame connecting structure when the frame is connected to the table top. In an exemplary embodiment, a first side of the frame receiving portion may include a first frame connecting portion with an undercut and a second side of the frame receiving portion may include a second frame connecting portion with an undercut. The first frame connecting portion with an undercut may be disposed on an opposing surface from the second frame connecting portion with an undercut.

A variable height platform system comprises a frame assembly, at least two leg assemblies, a drive mechanism, and a sensor. The frame assembly is configured to support and be removably connected to a tabletop. A pool table has a removable dining surface and a gravity-based ball-return system located transversely between end legs of the pool table. Balls that have been pocketed during a game on the table's playing bed are commonly collected in one of inclined two gullies that connect together multiple pockets. The gullies are peripheral to the table and directly beneath pockets that are, preferably, either side of a central longitudinal axis of the table. The ball return system includes a stacked arrangement of runners that receive a pocketed ball from a cascading drop at the end of each gully. Once into the stack, a ball separation device identifies and selectively separates a cue ball from object balls, with the cue ball directed downwards towards a free-return box while object balls are directed along a different downward path. Object balls are then retained behind a ball retainer and release mechanism which, when in a release position, causes delivery of all object balls to a ball picking slot at an end of the pool table common with the free-return box. Pool table depth is therefore minimized while space under the table's bed is maximized to accommodate seating.

A modular desk system may include a plurality of configurable components including, for example, a top panel, an all-purpose hook, a cup hook, a storage shelf, a connecting shelf, a connecting planter box, a connecting divider, a connecting platform, a desktop organization member, a channel, a kickstand base, and/or a support frame. The components may be configured and/or reconfigured to create a desk. The configuration assemblies of the modular desk system may be paired with and coupled to other desk units and/or furniture.
