The first separator outlet includes an outlet pump configured to provide a flow of fluid from the first separator outlet. The cleaning in place system further includes a container for cleaning fluid, a cleaning fluid pump for providing cleaning fluid from the container to the separator inlet, such as an eductor. The cleaning in place system is configured to receive a flow of fluid from the first separator outlet and that the cleaning fluid pump is configured to pump cleaning fluid from the container to the separator inlet by means of the received flow of fluid.

A portion of the centrifugal filter unit in the filter chamber is removable and, when removed from the centrifugal filter unit following operation, takes with it at least a portion of the solid material prevented from passing through the perforations. The centrifugal filter unit is arranged such that the feed is drawn into the filter from the inlet through the aperture and the liquid is expelled through the perforations to the outlet and the solid material is retained in the filter. The removable portion is shaped to scrape against the side wall during removal.

The centrifuge includes a casing, a shat, a stand tube and a rotor. The casing has an oil inlet, an oil outlet, a moisture outlet and an air inlet. Moisture separated from oil sprayed through a nozzle of the rotor is discharged along with air out of the casing through the moisture outlet. An amount of air identical to the amount of the air discharged through the moisture outlet is introduced into the casing through the air inlet.
