APPARATUS FOR THE CONTROLLED RAPID EXPANSION AND ACCELERATION OF AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION
A high velocity accelerator comprising: an internal chamber; a material inlet port; a material outlet port; a back wall surrounding the inlet port; an internal wall having a first end connected to the back wall and a second opposite end tapering to the outlet port, the first end being located proximate the inlet port and the second end being located proximate the outlet port; a plurality of injection ports positioned along the periphery of the internal wall proximate the first end; wherein said inlet port having a diameter smaller than the diameter of the internal chamber, and the injection ports are adapted to inject at a high rate of displacement a fluid which, in operation, will create a vortex inside the chamber thereby entraining a material towards the outlet port. Uses and methods using such are also disclosed.
SYSTEM FOR PULVERIZATION OF SOLID MATERIALS AND/OR SEPARATION OF DISSIMILAR SOLID MATERIALS
A method of pulverizing solid material for the purpose of extracting metals which may otherwise not be recoverable and/or cost prohibitive using conventional means and processes, said method comprising the steps of: using a gas to create a fluidized flow of previously crushed solid material; transporting the fluidized flow of solid material to an apparatus which induces a high velocity flow stream in a constricted low-pressure stream; causing a rapid acceleration on a rotational angle of the crushed solid material resulting in increased interparticle collisions and collection of solid particles; and ejecting the material at a high rate of speed from the apparatus to a focal point where the material is pulverized.
SYSTEM FOR SEPARATION OF VISCOUS MATERIALS FROM SOLIDS
The present invention relates to a method of cleaning solids to be free of, or separating solids from, viscous materials and in some cases other solids such as, but not limited to resins and other coatings, foreign debris, clays, silts, contaminated water or chemicals and in other cases separating some liquids form some other liquids. Also disclosed are systems to accomplish such.
INERTIAL SEPARATOR
An inertial separator for removing particles from a fluid stream includes a body defining a through passage, with at least one separator inlet and at least one separator outlet, a turn provided in the body between the at least one separator inlet and the at least one separator outlet, and a flow splitter having at least one particle outlet fluidly coupled to the outside of the through passage.
CONDENSATE SEPARATOR
A condensate separator for separating condensate from a gas stream, the condensate separator may include a housing having a condensate drain at a bottom end, a swirl generator provided at an inlet end of the housing, the swirl generator placing the gas stream in a rotational movement, and an impact element situated downstream from the swirl generator.
Rail Vehicle Having A Separating Device For Separating Particles From An Air Flow
A rail vehicle or locomotive includes a machine compartment, a cooling air flow system supplying the machine compartment, and a separating device separating particles from the air flow. The separating device includes a cyclone separator, a raw air channel feeding a raw air flow with particles to the separator and a clean air channel leading a clean air flow away from the separator. The separator has a box-shaped housing having a plurality of cyclones penetrating the housing for separating particles from the raw air flow into the housing and a discharge opening discharging separated particles from the housing. The discharge opening is connected to a constricted section of a Venturi nozzle suctioning an exhaust air flow having discharged particles. The Venturi nozzle is connected to the raw air channel by a branching side channel. The vacuum at the discharge opening suctioning the exhaust air flow is compact and economical.
SEPARATION DEVICE FOR SEPARATING PARTICLES FROM A FLUID FLOW
A separation device (1) for separating particles from a fluid flow, comprising a centrifugal separator (2), wherein the centrifugal separator (2) comprises a separation chamber (3), a fluid inlet (5), at least two dip tubes (7, 7) and at least one particle discharge opening (9, 9) and the separation chamber (3) is substantially formed as a rotational body. The rotational body has a casing (13) and two end faces (15, 15), the fluid inlet (5) opening into the separation chamber (3) tangentially to the surface of the casing (13) and one dip tube (7) being situated in one of the end faces (15) and the other dip tube (7) being situated in the other end face (15).
SPARK ARRESTOR
The present invention is a spark arrestor and method of using. The spark arrestor has a first chamber defined by an outer housing. The outer housing has an intake and an exhaust. The first chamber has an internal second chamber. An internal housing defines the second chamber. The internal housing has an inlet and an outlet. The internal housing inlet has a plurality of openings in fluid communication with the first airflow path and the outlet is in operative communication with the exhaust. The outer housing and the internal housing are spaced apart to create a first airflow path. The internal housing creates a second airflow path in said second chamber. The intake pulls air with entrained particulates into the first airflow path and then it enters the inlets and flows about the second airflow path with any entrained particulates engaging the outer and internal housing.
Cyclonic air-cooled microgravity mill
Disclosed herein is a cyclonic system for performing subtractive machining in microgravity systems. The cyclonic system comprises: an enclosure, a blower, and a debris collection module to collect the debris from the milling machine. The enclosure includes a top plate, a base plate, and a tapered side wall joining the top plate to the base plate. The enclosure defines a chamber to house a milling machine having a cutter tool. The blower generates an airstream that induces a cyclonic airflow to achieve cyclonic separation of debris within the enclosure. In operation, the cyclonic airflow urges the debris from the milling machine toward the base plate and into the milling machine.
Separator device
A separator device is provided for removing particles from suspension in a fluid comprises a housing having first and second ports for ingress and egress of fluid into and out of the housing, the first and second ports being on the same vertical line; and at least one separation chamber for separating solid particles from the fluid.
