A surface cleaning apparatus comprises an air treatment chamber with a moveable member positioned therein. An end wall of the air treatment chamber is openable in response to a moveable member being longitudinally translated through at least the portion of the air treatment chamber. The driving assembly includes a handle and a drive rod that is rotatably mounted about a longitudinally extending axis of the drive rod between a stored position in which the moveable member is in a stored position and an operable position in which the moveable member is translatable through at least a portion of the chamber. In the stored position, the handle is longitudinally spaced from the first and second ends of the air treatment chamber and, when the driving assembly is in the operable position, the driving assembly is operable to longitudinally translate the moveable member through at least a portion of the chamber.

A separating device that receives via a lower inlet an air flow laden with impurities, namely dust produced by pads of a brake assembly, and makes it possible to separate and collect heavy dust. The housing of the device contains a multi-cyclone cluster, with cyclones distributed annularly and supplied tangentially by a central collector surmounting an axial duct communicating with the inlet. An ultra violet air disinfectant machine 100 that includes a cyclone separator 120 configured and arranged for effecting a spiral vortex flow of air through a disinfection chamber 129 about a longitudinal axis x operable for inertial concentration of microbes in the spiral vortex flow of air proximate a sidewall 122s of the cyclone separator 120, and a source of germicidal ultraviolet radiation 140 positioned external to the disinfection chamber 129 for emitting germicidal ultraviolet radiation towards and into the disinfection chamber 129.

A particle separator is provided for separating small particles from large particles from material. The particle separator includes a conical shaped separator housing that forms a cyclonic separator enclosure, a cover attached at a top portion of the cyclonic separator enclosure, and an opening at a bottom portion of the cyclonic separator enclosure. In at least one embodiment, the invention provides a retrofit for existing water treatment systems where the retrofit includes at least one of the following: a particulate separator, a supplementary inlet, and a waveform disk-pack turbine. In a further embodiment, the invention includes a water treatment system combined with at least one of the following: a particulate separator, a supplementary inlet, and a waveform disk-pack turbine.
