A self-rotating device for cleaning with ultra-high water pressure having a base supported by front and rear wheels with a handle extending therefrom. A spray bar assembly with a plurality of nozzles constructed and arranged to cause rotation of the spray bar through fluid discharge is mounted beneath the base. A hydraulic pump is positioned with spray bar and coupled to a reservoir mounted on the handle. The hydraulic pump is rotated by the spray bar assembly, causing hydraulic fluid to recirculate through the reservoir, wherein an adjustable flow valve permits control of the spray bar assembly rotation speed.

SELF REGULATING FLUID BEARING HIGH PRESSURE ROTARY RETARDER NOZZLE
20220062925 · 2022-03-03 ·

A rotary nozzle having a rotating shaft operating within a cylindrical housing is balanced by allowing passage of a small amount of pressurized fluid to be bled to an area between the outside of the opposite end of the shaft and the inside of the housing where the fluid force acts axially in an opposing direction upon the shaft to balance the axial inlet force exerted by the pressurized fluid. The balance of axial forces is self-regulating by controlling escape of the fluid through a tapered or frusto-conical region between the shaft and housing. A plurality of centrifugal weight segments around the inlet end of the shaft are thrust outwardly against the cylindrical housing to retard rotational speed while pressurized fluid around the centrifugal weight segments provides a fluid bearing between the weights and the housing.

Rotary nozzle

An irrigation nozzle with a rotating deflector is provided whose rotational speed may be controlled by a friction brake. The nozzle may also include an arc adjustment valve having two portions that helically engage each other to define an opening that may be adjusted at the top of the sprinkler to a desired arcuate length. The arcuate length may be adjusted by pressing down and rotating a deflector to directly actuate the valve. The nozzle may also include a radius reduction valve that may be adjusted by actuation of an outer wall of the nozzle. Rotation of the outer wall causes a flow control member to move axially to or away from an inlet.

Cage design with modified struts including oriented fins

A sprinkler body for a rotating sprinkler includes a base securable to a source of water under pressure, a plurality of support struts connected to and extending from the base, and a deflector plate support connected to the plurality of support struts and disposed spaced from the base by the support struts. At least one of the plurality of support struts is wedge-shaped with an inward-facing apex. The support struts are configured to create a void in the water spray pattern away from a center pivot pipe and to direct the water spray downward to limit the effect of wind on the spray pattern.

Sprinkler with brake assembly

In one aspect, a sprinkler is provided having a nozzle, a deflector that receives fluid flow from the nozzle, and a friction brake assembly that controls rotation of a deflector. The friction brake assembly is releasably connected to the frame in order to enhance serviceability of the sprinkler. In another aspect, a sprinkler is provided having a frame, a deflector rotatably connected to the frame, a nozzle, and a nozzle socket of the frame. The nozzle and nozzle socket have interlocking portions that releasably connect the nozzle to the frame. The nozzle may be easily removed for servicing. Further, the nozzle socket can be configured to receive a plurality of nozzles having different flow characteristics. A nozzle can be selected and utilized with the sprinkler according to the desired application for the sprinkler.

High-pressure rotor nozzle
