Coating Apparatus
20230013140 · 2023-01-19 ·

A transfer and coating apparatus transfers a component from a conveyor to a coating station for application of a coating. The transfer apparatus includes a mast that can move about orthogonal axes in a horizontal plane and a mast having a carriage that can move vertically. The carriage includes a hook that swings about a horizontal axis relative to the mast for movement of the component in the horizontal direction. A sway bar extends between the hook and component to inhibit movement about a horizontal axis. The component is delivered to an upper compartment of a coating apparatus where it can be lowered in to a lower compartment containing coating material. Excess coating material is removed by an array of nozzles in the upper compartment as the component is raised from the coating material.

Rotational unit having a hollow-shaft motor

In order to create a rotating unit for a coating lance device for thermally coating an interior, it is provided that the rotary drive is implemented as a hollow-shaft motor coaxial with the axis of rotation of the tool holder, and wherein the tool holder and the coating material feed, as well as the process media feed, are located centrally relative to the hollow-shaft motor. Furthermore, in order to create a coating lance device for thermally coating an interior, it is proposed to provide such a rotating unit; at least one linear actuator for axial and/or lateral positioning of the rotating unit relative to an interior to be coated; and stationary supply connections for supplying electricity to the coating lance, and for the coating material feed, and for the process media feed.

Systems and methods for coating particulate goods in a fluid stream

The present disclosure teaches systems and methods for coating and cooking goods. One system for coating of goods can comprise a source of powder for coating the goods, a source of gas to create a gas stream to carry the powder and the goods in a combined stream through a tunnel or chamber comprising air bearings to keep the goods and the powder from contacting the inner surface of the tunnel or chamber, and a system for recirculating unused powder for reuse. One method for coating goods can comprise combining additive powder with at least one gas stream in a powder circulation chamber and forming a powder gas stream, forming an air bearing on an inner surface of the powder distribution tunnel wherein the powder distribution tunnel comprises an inner tube and outer tube can be separated by a plenum, wherein the air bearing is formed by directing a gas stream through the at least one compressed air inlet causing the tunnel gas stream to form a circular vortex ring having a centrifugal force equal to a pressure gradient outward and releasing goods into the powder distribution tunnel to coat the goods.
